author:Qilu one point
Qilu Evening News, Qilu one-point reporter Gong Yueyue planned and sorted Editor's note: "The day is not everywhere, youth comes from just now; moss flowers are as small as rice, and peonies are also learned." "This is a true portrayal of the vast majority of small-scale rural schools. In the past 2021, the reporter went from Yinan to Yuncheng, and then from Zhuanhua to Yiyuan squatting, witnessing many educators with feelings taking root in the countryside, and they are working hard to make up for the gap with glimmer and help rural children grow better. The family sits idly and the lights are amiable, which is the ideal state for the Spring Festival reunion. In small-scale rural schools in many parts of Shandong, countless rural principals and teachers are rushing to the homes of students in remote rural areas that lead to the middle of the mountain, and they want to use their precious winter vacation time to go to their children's homes and enter their children's hearts. From now on, the Qilu Evening News Qilu One-Point "Youth Talk" column will successively launch the "Winter Holiday Memories of Rural Principals/Teachers", focusing on what rural teachers see, hear and feel during home visits, light up the dreams of rural children, and inject strength into rural revitalization. The following is the winter holiday record of Fang Xiuhai, a teacher at Yinan County's Shore Causeway Middle School:

Wednesday, February 9, 2022 Weather is sunny

My name is Fang Xiuhai, I am a physics teacher at Yinan County Shore Causeway Middle School, and A rural teacher who has been a class teacher for many years. As a teacher in a rural school, most of the students we face are peasant children, some of their parents go to the city to work and earn money, leaving children for grandparents and grandparents or other relatives to take care of, some are busy with their own acres and acres of land, busy with the group every day, and some are busy taking care of the elderly and children, and the parents who can really care about the learning and growth of students are still less than the city. As teachers, it has become an important task for us to understand how students perform at home during the holidays and to instruct them on how to spend their holidays well. Looking forward to meeting the students and their parents, my math teacher and I embarked on a home visit.

The first home visiting student is a student who is closer to the school, his name is Xiaotian (pseudonym), he is also a poor student of the math teacher (my daughter-in-law) Bao Bao, Xiaotian This student has a slightly poor foundation, did not develop good study habits from an early age, and has some tendencies to be bored with school. When it was cold years ago, Xiaotian occasionally took leave on the grounds that he was sick with a cold. We parked the car on the edge of the village and walked about two miles along the sheep gut path to where Tian Dad raised sheep, ducks and chickens.

Entering this makeshift shelter in the wild, we were greeted by the barking of six or seven dogs, his father called the child, and his mother, who herded sheep, came to us. More than twenty days after leaving the campus, he saw that the teacher was still so restrained, and he put his hands in his pocket in a disciplined manner.

After learning about the completion of the homework, his parents also hope that he will study well, even if there is a cultural class exam for the driver's license in the future, the student said that he will study hard. Watching him show a grateful look to us made me realize that there are cute places that have always bothered the teacher. With some affection, we said goodbye to their family and rushed to the next student's house.

Driving about four miles, we came to Ma Xin's house. Ma Xin is the sports committee member of my class, she has a cheerful personality, and she is very active in the sports activities organized by the school. As a sports committee member, she is also very conscientious, carefully taking morning exercises and completing the requirements of the teacher in physical education class. However, the motivation to learn is insufficient, and the enthusiasm for learning is not strong.

Just after entering the village, we met Ma Xin's mother, and we arrived at home while walking and talking. Ma Xin's mother said that after her sister returned home, she was worried that she would not be able to complete her homework seriously at home, so she took her to her work place this morning to facilitate supervision of her to complete her homework well. When I last visited Ma Xin's home, I heard Ma Xin's mother say that Ma Xin's sister was a teacher, and when I heard her mother talk like this, my heart also got some comfort. After chatting with Ma Xin's mother for some years before and after the parents, saying goodbye to Ma Xin's mother, we set off again...

The sunset glows red after the spring, the red of the sky slowly increases, and it is time for every household to go into the house to summarize the harvest of the day. Talking with my daughter-in-law about this day's home visit, I feel that I usually say that teaching may not have much effect on students in school, students are a three-dimensional multiple individual, as teachers, should we understand students from multiple angles and in an all-round way to find a way to better promote students' progress?
