Qilu Evening News, Qilu one-point reporter Gong Yueyue planned and sorted Editor's note: "The day is not everywhere, youth comes from just now; moss flowers are as small as rice, and peonies are also learned." "This is a true portrayal of the vast majority of small-scale rural schools. In the past 2021, the reporter went from Yinan to Yuncheng, and then from Zhuanhua to Yiyuan squatting, witnessing many educators with feelings taking root in the countryside, and they are working hard to make up for the gap with glimmer and help rural children grow better. The family sits idly and the lights are amiable, which is the ideal state for the Spring Festival reunion. In small-scale rural schools in many parts of Shandong, countless rural principals and teachers are rushing to the homes of students in remote rural areas that lead to the middle of the mountain, and they want to use their precious winter vacation time to go to their children's homes and enter their children's hearts. From now on, the Qilu Evening News Qilu One-Point "Youth Talk" column will successively launch the "Winter Holiday Memories of Rural Principals/Teachers", focusing on what rural teachers see, hear and feel during home visits, light up the dreams of rural children, and inject strength into rural revitalization. The following is the winter holiday record of Duan Haihong, a teacher at Yinan County's Shore Causeway Middle School:

Wednesday, February 9, 2022 Sunny

My name is Duan Haihong, and I am a morality and rule of law teacher at the First Junior High School in Andi Town, Yinan County. Born in the countryside, I was taught in a rural school from an early age, and I have a deep affection for rural education and rural children. From 1998 to 2001, when I was studying at Linyi Normal College, I thought that I must return to my hometown, return the education of my hometown, teach the children in my hometown, and after graduation, I have taught at my alma mater as I wished.

After 20 years of teaching in the countryside, I have been thinking about my students all the time. Today, the weather is warm, thinking that the students' homes are almost finished with relatives visiting the door, I want to see them. After breakfast, I set off from the county seat, and the first stop I wanted to make was to see my Bao Bao student Ozawa, a boy whose parents divorced when he was seven years old, and whose father worked outside the home for many years and lived with his elderly grandparents.

Along the way, I was both happy and worried, happy to see my students soon, worried that I had called many times and no one answered, what would happen? Thoughts returned to several home visits years ago, when I began to go, Grandma was not at home, Ozawa sat there with his head bowed and did not say a word, Grandpa Mu Ne only knew to say "good" and "yes yes", after knowing Ozawa's situation, in school I deliberately went to approach him, look for him, teach him some simple knowledge, let him answer and encourage him. Slowly, Ozawa approached me, and when he met me, he also took the initiative to say hello.

Another snowy evening home visit, the weather was colder, and Grandma was at home. I talked a lot and a lot with Grandma Ozawa and Ozawa around the stove, including Ozawa's studies, getting along with classmates, school life, and family life. I have always stressed that whether at home or at school, you can come to me whenever you need me. Chatting and chatting, Ozawa burst into tears and said everything about the grievances he buried in his heart that even his grandparents didn't know, and Grandma Ozawa said, "Teacher, you have unraveled the knots in Ozawa's heart, he has never said it before." "I was also made to tears in my eyes by the child, I didn't want the child to see it, so I secretly turned around and wiped my tears." Since then, Ozawa has changed and become a lover of talking and smiling.

Unconsciously arriving at the door of Ozawa's house, he was eager to open the door, but the door was locked. My heart was pounding, what the hell was going on? The phone does not answer, wait will not see anyone, want to go back first, come back in a few days. Suddenly remembered, before the holiday, when I repeatedly told Ozawa to be safe during the holiday, Ozawa told me, teacher, you can rest assured, I don't go out, I don't contact outsiders, I don't whip, I don't go on the road. I immediately wondered if Ozawa would be locked in the house by his grandparents. Knock on the door and try it.

Knocking and shouting again, Ozawa came out, and I was happy to be broken. Ozawa knew it was me coming, and rushed into the house to find the key and threw it out. I opened the door and saw that Ozawa was wearing a pair of sandals on his feet and wearing thin clothes, and I was heartbroken and rushed into the house to help him find thick clothes to put on. When I asked, I learned that my grandmother was ill and my grandfather accompanied my grandmother to the hospital. Seeing Ozawa, I was relieved, asked about the holiday life, helped him sort out his homework, instructed him to use the rest of the vacation time to complete the homework, learn to prepare for the new lesson, and ask us if you don't understand. Ozawa readily agreed and started a routine with me. Although Ozawa's study needs to be improved, the door of his soul has opened, and the smile on his face has increased, and he has understood things. I told him that something must call me. Ozawa smiled and nodded, and I gave a pass before leaving.

When I returned from the home visit, my heart was very heavy, and while sympathizing with or even hurting, it was more important to think about what I would do for them in the future. I think that as long as there is love in their hearts, with responsibility, and warm them with a motherly heart, they will definitely grow up healthy and happy. May all unfortunate children in the world be cared for, and through home visits, we are closer to the hearts of students' parents. Of course, during the home visits, I also found a variety of problems worth thinking about, which also spurred me to continue to explore, keep thinking, and constantly accumulate new educational methods to achieve myself on the road of education.

Let us have love in our hearts, carry out our responsibilities with a grateful heart, and be a competent rural teacher. Don't forget the original heart, keep in mind the mission, I will continue to work hard to cheer!
