The "guarantee" project launched by the county education and sports bureau has entered the in-depth stage and has become a part of the daily work of every teacher, in addition to the help in the school, home visits have also become the main way of work. The holiday provides the most solid time and the broadest stage for our teachers' home visits, we learn about the students' performance at home through home visits, and also experience the hardships and difficulties of parents, and then formulate targeted support plans for children in the new semester.
In addition to phone and WeChat communication, after the Spring Festival, I once again walked into Xiaojing (pseudonym) home.
Xiao Jing is my "Bao Bao" student, although he is smart but very playful, has not developed good study habits, gave up learning early, always in the classroom is not guarded, can not listen, but after class is refreshed, full of vitality. Many times, he is also coping with homework, and his academic performance has been lagging behind. To this end, I often communicate with parents by phone and make many home visits.
He was born in an ordinary rural family, his father worked outside the home all year round to support his family, and he could only return home during the New Year's Holiday, so the burden of life and the pressure of educating children were all on his mother alone. Mothers are busy at home every day, and they have to pick up and drop off their children in the morning and evening, and they basically have no energy to manage their children's learning, and their mothers are not highly educated, and they cannot tutor their children. In the long run, it will lead to children not only not having good learning habits, but also disobeying discipline and becoming problem students.
For such a child, if you want to change him, you must take a variety of ways to help and be prepared to fight a "protracted war". Although I often communicated with parents in the early stages, and used the summer vacation and weekends to make many home visits, and talked with my children every week at school, long-term laziness, greed and other problems have been deeply rooted, coupled with poor foundation, sometimes he wants to learn but can no longer understand. Because of this, his performance in the last semester was good and bad, the performance in the first half of the term was better, and the midterm exam results were still good. After the midterm exam, there was a bit of "cocking the tail", the thinking was relaxed again, and the learning declined again during that time. I summarized and reflected on it: for this child, we must pay more attention, talk and remind frequently, praise and encourage in time when performance is good, and immediately point out problems and help them correct... In short, the help strategy is the eight-character policy - "always pay attention, never let go".
The child has entered the third year of junior high school, I believe that as long as I lower my posture, move the child with affection, understand the reason, and let him feel your respect and concern for him in the exchange again and again, he will let go of the mustard in his heart and open his heart to speak out. Although fourteen or fifteen-year-old children are rebellious, they already have the ability to distinguish between good and evil, and I believe that as long as they are tired of it, there will be times when the ice will be calcined.
During this home visit, I first affirmed and praised Xiaojing's chinese language achievements for achieving the set goals, and Xiaojing and his parents were very happy. Parents said words of gratitude to me, grateful that I have been helping my children, so the breakthrough in language learning is very big. Listening to their words, I was very unhappy in my heart, although I did pay, but I still had a lot of guilt in my heart.
In order to give children hope, so that parents do not disappoint, do not give up, I went on to point out that the teacher last semester was more satisfied with Xiaojing's performance, I hope that Xiaojing will make good use of the last few months of the new semester to work hard, the total review is also the best opportunity to check and fill in the gaps, you can re-learn some basic knowledge, master the knowledge that can be learned, not only can the language score be improved, the score of other subjects must also be improved. After the results of the cultural subject are improved, it is also necessary to make good use of the strengths, don't be afraid to suffer hardships, practice sports with the physical education teacher, and strive to take the road of special students, as long as he starts to work hard from now on, he will definitely have a chance, and the teacher has confidence in him.
I also told XiaoJing that his parents had paid a lot for him. Dad has been working outside for many years, in order to earn money to support the family to create good living conditions for him, his mother not only does farm work, picks up housework, but also picks him up and drops him off to school every day, rain or shine, which is very hard. Mom and Dad have all their hopes in him, and we must not fail them. Eat the bitterness of reading now, and you will taste the sweetness of life in the future... The child has been keeping his head down and listening carefully, and I know that his heart must also be touched, and there must be a desire and determination to get better.
After that, I learned about the child's vacation life arrangement and homework plan, parents said that the child did not make a learning plan, the time to play mobile phones every day is relatively long, I carried out appropriate education, I hope that he will have a regular schedule for the last two weeks, try to control the time of playing mobile phones, spend more time studying, and complete the homework as soon as possible.
Finally, I checked Xiaojing's winter vacation homework, although many subjects did not keep up with the progress, but the General Review Manual of Chinese and Mathematics still did a lot, while giving praise, pointed out that the writing should be more serious, and catch up with the homework progress of other subjects as soon as possible. Xiao Jing agreed and promised to finish the homework as soon as possible. During the period, Xiaojing's mother kept repeating: "You study hard, maybe you can get admitted?" Whoever had the children was originally the first to last, is now counting first. How much does this simple mother expect her son to do miracles? I can only try my best to persuade XiaoJing: "Child, you must appreciate the good intentions of parents!" ”
Time passed unconsciously, it was time to say goodbye, my parents warmly sent me out, my mouth was still saying words of gratitude, I had mixed feelings in my heart, smiled and replied: "It is what I should do, I am far from enough!" It was really sad to say that. I know deeply what the phrase "there is actually a family with a problem behind all problem students" is deeply understood, and I can understand the heart of a parent and their inability to face their children.
Long-term simple and rough education methods, in exchange for children's lack of self-confidence and confrontational emotions. I have no right to blame them, but to remind them once again that they must not give up on their children. In the future, dads should often call home, be sure to communicate with their children calmly, find more advantages from children, encourage children more, and strive to let children go all out to participate in the middle school exam review.
Driving home with an uneasy mood, I have been thinking about the educational methods after Xiaojing returned to school, and then thinking about the educational strategies of every child in the class. As a teacher, we must not only do a good job of "guaranteeing" students, we must strengthen the close relationship between home and school for every student we teach, and pay attention to the individual education of students, and truly achieve the educational effect of "educating a child, driving a family, and influencing the whole society".
