Editor's note: "The day is not everywhere, youth comes from just now; moss flowers are as small as rice, and peonies are also learned." "This is a true portrayal of the vast majority of small-scale rural schools. In the past 2021, the reporter went from Yinan to Yuncheng, and then from Zhuanhua to Yiyuan squatting, witnessing many educators with feelings taking root in the countryside, and they are working hard to make up for the gap with glimmer and help rural children grow better. The family sits idly and the lights are amiable, which is the ideal state for the Spring Festival reunion. In small-scale rural schools in many parts of Shandong, countless rural principals and teachers are rushing to the homes of students in remote rural areas that lead to the middle of the mountain, and they want to use their precious winter vacation time to go to their children's homes and enter their children's hearts. From now on, the Qilu Evening News Qilu One-Point "Youth Talk" column will successively launch the "Winter Holiday Memories of Rural Principals/Teachers", focusing on what rural teachers see, hear and feel during home visits, light up the dreams of rural children, and inject strength into rural revitalization.
Zhang Yanxiao, a | of the winter holiday of rural teachers: As long as you study well, you can change your life on your own
The following is the winter holiday record of Zhang Yanxiao, a teacher at Xinji Primary School in Yinan:

February 6, 2022 Sunny

Xiao Ya is a child with a difficult fate, her mother died of illness when she was young, and she and her father and brother are dependent on each other. When I first took over this class, I paid attention to this special student, compared to the lively and mischievous other children, Xiao Ya always gave people the feeling of being worried.

In class, Xiao Ya is a silent but serious student, who can listen carefully to the lecture, but never raises her hand to speak, writes beautifully, and can complete the homework carefully. Through several tests, I found that Xiao Ya's pinyin mastery was extremely poor, and every time I looked at the pinyin and wrote the words almost all wrong.

In my spare time, I often call Xiaoya to the office to tutor her in pinyin and talk to her about her recent learning and life experiences. As an introverted child, Xiao Ya is very restrained every time she enters the office, the teacher asks and answers, and the questions that do not know how to answer are still very nervous, how to open her heart and narrow the psychological distance with her? I decided to take advantage of the winter break for a home visit.

The village where Xiao Yajia is located is not far from the school, but the road in the village is particularly difficult to walk. When he arrived at his house, Xiao Ya's father, who had received the call in advance, had rushed back from his vegetable greenhouse and waited. Xiao Ya's home is too simple compared to other rural families in the village, the courtyard walls are rammed with mud, there is no cement floor in the yard, and there is not a single decent piece of furniture and electrical appliances in the house. Xiao Ya's father was busy in the vegetable greenhouse all day, without the hostess's control, and the whole family was a mess.

Looking at Xiao Ya's room, with the help of the "Hope Hut" project of the Youth League County Committee, a small room separated from the inside of the hall house, which is very beautifully painted, with white floor tiles, pink princess beds, and white wardrobes, all of which show the intention of the "Hope Hut" project. While communicating with Xiaoya's father about Xiaoya's situation at school, I helped Xiaoya clean up the room. Home visits have brought us closer, and Xiao Ya has changed from being restrained at the beginning to talking more.

Xiao Ya's father told me that because the family still has a son who is of marriageable age, he is busy in the vegetable greenhouse all day, hoping to save some savings. Xiao Ya not only has to study after school, but also to help the family wash and cook, learning all depends on the child's self-awareness, so he does not have too many requirements for the child, as long as the child tries his best. Xiao Ya's father said that thanks to the care of the government over the years, Xiao Ya built a hope hut for Xiao Ya, so that Xiao Ya had her own space to study, and always sent gifts and care to Xiao Ya every New Year's Festival.

In the chat, I told Xiaoya that everyone's birth encounters are different, but the difficulties are immediate, as long as we study well, we can change our lives on our own.

Through home visits, I learned about Xiaoya's growing environment and brought me closer to her. In the future study, I will give her more attention and care, in life, communicate with her more, open her heart, and be a teacher and friend who can let her talk about her heart.
