Author Li Jun

At 9:10 p.m. on the 19th, in the downtown area of Xining City, Qinghai Province, the reporter walked into the Khampa-style Tibetan restaurant called "Tibetan Palace", and 34-year-old Sonam Renqing inspected every Tibetan dish prepared for the table in the back kitchen.

Here is the provincial capital Xining rare Tibetan humanistic "punch point", on the stage Aden is even more under the modern dance sound effects, waving long sleeves and dancing enthusiastic Kham dance. Off the stage, guests enjoyed fern yogurt, butter dumplings, cordyceps soup, safflower lamb chops... Amid the applause and cheers, from time to time, guests would hold Hada in their hands and offer it to Aden.

"I want customers to truly feel the unique dining culture and humanistic customs of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau here, and I also want children like me to have a place to live." Sonam Renqing pointed at Aden and sighed, "He used to be a poor child, but he can now earn twenty thousand a month." ”

Sonam Renqing was born in Yushu City, Qinghai Province, and when he was a child, it was only a county seat, and he was just a poor child who was "adopted" by the teachers and students of the Yushu National Normal School.

"There are 11 sisters in our family, because my family is poor, I ran to the canteen of Yushu National Normal School to ask for food, and when I was 6 years old, I was adopted by a group of teacher training students, who squeezed some money out of their living expenses and put together to provide me with food and study." Sonam Renqing said that at that time, he ate with his brothers and sisters, studied together in the evening, and took turns to squeeze into his brothers' high and low beds at night, from preschool to sixth grade, for 7 years.

Because of the guidance of teacher training students, Sonam Renqing has always been the top three in the class. Every time he came home, his mother would tell him: "Listen to your brothers and sisters, and don't let them down." ”

It is this sentence that has become the driving force for Sonam Renqing to struggle.

In 2007, his mother died and his father left the house a year later. Reluctantly, Sonam Renqing dropped out of school and returned home with his two older brothers to work and earn money and raise younger siblings.

"Our brothers went to work as small workers for 30 to 50 yuan a day, and my sister was the fourth oldest at home to wash and cook, at that time I didn't see meat, I ate some radish, potatoes, kale or whatever, and sometimes I would pick up some cow dung to change vegetables with my neighbors." Sonam Renqing recalled his childhood life, and his eyes filled with tears.

In 2010, a 7.1-magnitude earthquake struck Yushu, leaving the home in ruins. Fortunately, the 11 brothers and sisters were not harmed, and at the request of the government, the people of Yushu lived in tents with the help of various aid units, during which they were also sent daily necessities by caring people who did not want to be named.

"It's hard to survive without a skill, and I can't live on others all the time, so after the earthquake I went to Sichuan to learn cooking." Sonam Renqing said that in early 2012, after studying as a cook, he had saved a little money, returned to Yushu, found a vacant lot, and opened a tent restaurant.

"It was the period of reconstruction after the Yushu earthquake, and it wasn't long before a strong wind blew away all my belongings, and there were only 3 tables left in the restaurant. My tears swirled in my eyes, and I felt that the last hope I had was gone. He said.

After more than 20 days of decadence, Sonam Renqing decided to start again, taking the 5,000 yuan he had saved before and opening a tent tea ceremony with the help of the cadres and soldiers of the army. "From 2012 to October 2014, I didn't toss less tea in restaurants. I firmly believe that the life of suffering is an experience for the strong, as long as the grateful life will eventually usher in a brilliant. Sonam Renqing said.

After years of hard work, Sonam Renqing opened several catering branches, hired many orphans who had no one to rely on, and provided them with free food and accommodation while paying them their dues, even if the company affected by the epidemic had no income, he also guaranteed the life and wages of each employee, and together with the employees, sent more than 100,000 yuan of supplies to the frontline anti-epidemic personnel. At present, the two stores in Xining employ 200 people.

"Because I can't forget the brothers and sisters who helped me at the Yushu National Normal School in the most difficult times, and I can't forget the nobles who helped me." Now with the support of governments at all levels, I already have 4 companies in the province, involving cultural media, tourism, agricultural and livestock products, etc. Sonam Renqing said that the next step is to open restaurants to Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen and other places, bring the unique national catering culture of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to more people, and also want to absorb more people to employment and do their part for the development of society.
