Japanese animated film "Our Youth on The Track"

Our Youth in Orbit is an anime released in Japan and released in theaters as two films. On Netflix, they were cut into a six-episode mini-series.

What is it about the movie?

In 2045, two children born on the moon and three children from Earth tried to survive an accident on their space station that left them in trouble.

Born on the moon, Touya reluctantly welcomes three young Earthlings to his home in space. But there was a terrible accident at the welcome party.

From the Earth to the Moon

The SF series, signed by Mitsuo Iso, director of Dennō Coil, is available for viewing on ADN and Netflix. He has also worked with famous directors and others to make enough big movies and series that make you dizzy: Hayao Miyazaki, Kazuo Takahata, Katsuhiro Otomo, Imatoshi, Mori Oshii, Hideaki Anno... Such a resume, it is impossible not to let the audience have some expectations. So, did he get the audience in return? Yes, Dennō Coil's answer was yes.

I really don't know what to expect, and the summary is a bit sketchy, so I'm a little scared of boredom. But this is not the case. In the first half of the series, we find ourselves on a boat, and after being damaged, our young friend tries to get rid of it. The first episode introduces us to this little world, and I invite you to watch the second episode calmly, and it is from this moment that the story really begins to gain momentum.

From the Moon to the Earth

This small group of heroes is young and resourceful. Touya's role will evolve from a young boy to a young adult boy who must make important decisions. Obviously, we are on a pretty classic path, but still working. The reversal of circumstances throws you into suspense, time is running out, and tensions in the film are intensifying.

I think where the show lost people in the process was in the second half. The story enters a metaphysical delirium, deluded by a rather dubious translation by Netflix. I had to be engrossed to understand the conversation, but I don't think I understood everything. Blame the script? Blame the translation? I can't say. Either way, my brain was overheating.

The ending is more classic, even a bit overdone, but in the end this series is really interesting.

It's been a great surprise to haunt me since the first episode. Our youth on track is perfect, but the series offers an exciting adventure, sometimes confusing in its message, but always fun and positive.
