"Five Strokes" Write Life: A Scholar half a farmer

"A scholar, half a peasant" is my self-white description.

Can bear suffering, do not feel bitterness; know the difficult, not afraid of difficult,

It's a habit and persistence I've developed since I was a kid.

I think that knowing the countryside, having been a farmer,

It is an inexhaustible asset in my life.

"Five Strokes" Write Life: A Scholar half a farmer

▲ In May 1997, after studying in the United States for two years, he returned to China to help his mother wind the cotton thread - to dedicate a heart to his mother.

Wang Yongmin, a native of Nanyang, Henan, is the inventor of the Wubi glyph Chinese character input method. "Wang Code Five Stroke Font" has won the patent of China, the United States and the United Kingdom and the "National Technological Invention Award" issued by the State Council. In 2001, among the "most important scientific and technological achievements of the mainland since the founding of the People's Republic of China" signed and elected by 95 academicians of the mainland, the first item was "two bombs and one satellite", and the second item was the revolution of Chinese character printing technology and the major breakthrough in Chinese character information processing and input technology. Academician Lu Yongxiang, former president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, in his book "100 Moments of Science Changing Human Life", selected the most influential original and major scientific and technological achievements in the world in the past 100 years, including 5 items belonging to China, including the five-stroke font. In 2003, the State Post Bureau issued a commemorative stamp "Contemporary Bi Sheng - Wang Yongmin". In 2018, Wang Yongmin was selected as one of the 100 reform pioneers in the country, and the Party Central Committee and the State Council awarded the title of reform pioneer and awarded a medal.

The White River, like a silver streamer, flew down on the Nanyang Basin surrounded by the Eight-Hundred-Mile Funiu Mountain.

More than a hundred miles away from the source, the high mountains on both sides of the river have become two columns of hills, and between the hills is a maping river, which is an alluvial plain about one kilometer wide. The White River crawls from north to south on a huge green carpet formed by crops, with water like jade and sand like silver. This is my hometown.

I was born on December 15, 1943, to a poor peasant family in Zhaiwo Village, Liu Village, Nanzhao County, Henan Province.

One

As soon as I was born, my mother suffered a near-fatal illness, and I was unable to eat a mouthful of milk when I was young, so that I could only rely on noodle soup to feed, so that I was weak and skinny from an early age.

Since I can remember, I have been like a little adult, quietly helping my mother to collect firewood and cook on the fire, and helping my father to water and fertilize the vegetable field. As soon as the harvest season came, he competed with his sister to collect grain, walk sweet potatoes, and harvest sunflowers that he planted.

My initiator is Wan Qiye, an old Chinese medicine doctor who lives in the same courtyard as my family. In the winter, under the fire in the house, in the summer, under the big catalpa tree in the courtyard, the people in the courtyard gathered together to listen to Wan Qiye's storytelling. From Wang Mang driving liu xiu away, to Zhuge Liang's death of Zhou Yu, from "Water Margin" to "Seven Heroes and Five Righteousness", from the family lineage of the local celebrity Zhang Heng to Yue Fei's origin, Wan Qiye quoted the scriptures and exported them into chapters. In particular, the story of a poor child with a head hanging from a beam and a cone of thorns, painstakingly studying, and finally entering Beijing to obtain the title is deeply engraved in my heart.

"Mom, who told him the story of Wan Qiye?"

"Wan Qiye is a learned man who has learned it from books."

"Mom, why don't we have books in our house?"

"If you can't read, it's useless to ask for books." When you grow up and go to school, you will have books at home. ”

In the spring of 1950, Murakami opened a new school in the Wang Clan Ancestral Hall. I led seven or eight of my friends, each of whom took a small bag of grain from home, some mung beans, some wheat, some corn, brought it to school, and put it on the teacher's desk.

The teacher looked at it and asked, "What for?" ”

I said, "Teacher, let's go to school!" ”

"Go home and get dressed!" The teacher shouted loudly—none of us were dressed.

It was the first act of my schooling as a child. This is how we know that we need to wear clothes to go to school. The family was very poor, from May 1st to Eleventh, it seemed that they did not wear clothes, and they played around in the mud ditch and mud ditch all day. The clothes worn in winter are only one cotton jacket, which is called "brush barrel cotton jacket" in the hometown dialect, and there is no shirt in the light of a barrel.

The first lesson learned four words, "one, two, three, walk, walk, walk." The teacher said that this "walk" was changed from a picture of two feet in front of and behind, and I found it really interesting to learn to write. Since then, as soon as I got home, I would crouch on the ground and silently write with fossils that could write, write a few steps back, exit the yard, and write in the courtyard of other homes. Once, I fell off a step and rolled over and broke my scalp. I also used a knife to carve verses on my mother's loom.

When I was less than 10 years old, I referred to the "Four Bodies and Hundred Family Names" to help people carve a stamp in the village" and carve a stamp for 5 cents. I also carved the couplet of the ancestral tablets of the main house, "Ancestral Gong Zong Defang Hundred Generations, Spring Dew and Autumn Frost Ancestral Ten Thousand Years", printed it on the book, and also engraved a note "Wang Yongmin of Zhai Ou Township, Liucun District".

My grandfather's father and father were only a dozen people. As a broken settler in the "Shuxiang Mendi" family, his father has been running around doing odd jobs since he was ten years old. He was skillful and believed in "art without pressure", and could build houses as well as carpenters, blacksmiths and fitters. He could use a lathe to create a real "Hanyang-made" rifle and a "Ten Sons Company" pistol by hand, and was a well-known "foreign gunner" in the township. The various tools for carpentry and fitters in my home have become the basic tools for experimenting with homemade toys in my childhood. Two days of hard work to weave a mat, you can go to the street to sell for 5 cents.

When my father made something, I laid it down. In addition to making bird cages and mousetraps, I often make the things mentioned in books, wind direction meters, sun shadow chronographs, cars, and trains, according to the pictures in the books. He also buried chopping wood in deep pits to make "coal". Because my family didn't have money to buy a pen, I cut a thin iron sheet into a pen tip and installed it on a small bamboo tube as a pen. Once playing by the small river at my grandmother's house, I was surprised to find that a curved pipe could carry water from a low place to a high place and then flow down. I had a clever move and worked for more than ten days to make a machine that "leads the water up the mountain, pushes the water and grinds, and never stops" in the cycle. Of course, the "perpetual motion machine" failed, and I was puzzled by my youth...

My father was also a "literary and artistic fan" in the village, and he could play and sing. Influenced by this, I taught myself to pull erhu. I do it myself, making erhu from bamboo tubes and snakeskin, and practicing it every day. Seeing that my mother was spinning cotton thread very hard, I used five or six vacations to make a "semi-automatic small spinning wheel" after dozens of transformation experiments, and successfully tested it. Among them, the gears, worms and other complex parts are all carved by hand. Of the many inventions of my childhood, this is the only souvenir that still has a physical object.

In childhood memories, poverty has always accompanied the whole family. Eggs are usually sold for money, and only on birthdays can you eat an egg. In order to maintain this home with less food and clothing, my parents were busy all year round, never asking me about my studies and exams, engaging in a variety of small machines and small creations for me all day long, and getting up in the middle of the night to light oil lamps and knock on them, and never interfered. Later, I thought that perhaps such a family environment would help cultivate children's creative talents.

When I was 11 years old, I had a school-wide argument with my homeroom teacher in class. In class, the teacher took a wooden right-angled triangle board, pressed it on the blackboard, drew a circle around it with chalk, and said, "This is a sharp triangle, please see, here are two sharp angles." The teacher said, pointing to two sharp horns.

Then, the teacher put up the right angled edges of the same triangular plate, drew it for another week, and announced, "This is a right triangle, here is a right angle." The teacher said with his finger at a right angle.

I immediately raised my hand and stood up: "Teacher, you are not right, obviously it is drawn along the three sides of the same triangular plate, why are they different triangles?" "Hey! I grew up helping my father work as a carpenter, and I was so familiar with these things!

I ran to the podium and compared, while telling the whole class, argued with the teacher, and said, "You are Standing Teacher Liu, isn't it lying down?" ”

This controversy made me famous for my boldness and "eloquence". Since then, I have learned a truth, adults, teachers and books, sometimes not all correct, everything must be independent thinking.

Two

In 1956, I was admitted to Nanzhao County No. 1 Middle School with the first place in Zhai'ao Township. Leaving my parents and carrying grass mats, I set off from a small village 60 miles away from the county seat, waded through mountains and rivers, walked from early to black, and reported to the "highest school" in the county.

I was 12 years old at the time, and my new knowledge was limited to having a telephone pole in my wheat field and a telephone line on it. I often put my ear to the wooden pole and think of the "buzzing" sound as the voice of others, always wanting to understand. On the day of registration, I walked on the street of the county town and was curious to find that there were many telephone lines on a telephone pole! What about "crosstalk"? As he walked, he counted the number of wires in mid-air until he stumbled over the stone and fell to the ground. This is to experience the "civilization difference" between the county town and the countryside.

I know that reading is not easy to leave home, I go home less than twice a year on average, except for sports, never let any homework results be mediocre, determined to be a person with great ability. At school, clothes are washed by themselves, and quilts are unwrapped and sewn by themselves. From the very beginning, I wrote diaries, memorized words, composed poetry, studied music, painted, and was particularly interested in mathematics, physics, and chemistry. At the high school graduation ceremony, I spoke on behalf of the graduates: "Students, open the physics and chemistry textbooks we have studied, and the heads of the people are all foreigners with high noses and long hair. Why can't we Chinese have great inventions and creations and print the heads of Chinese in textbooks? ”

More than a thousand teachers and students responded with long and warm applause. President Zhang Jigong educated my next five students in this way.

In 1962, I graduated from Nanzhao No.1 Middle School with an average score of 99.75 points in six homework courses, and when I took the college entrance examination, the first choice, the second choice was the University of Science and Technology of China, the third choice was Tsinghua, and the fourth choice was Peking University. It's crazy! Determined to be a scientist anyway! I was admitted to the Department of Radio, University of Science and Technology of China.

Leaving my hometown to report to Beijing opened my eyes. Departing from Nanyang by coach and arriving in Xuchang in the afternoon, I saw the train for the first time and saw a house with more than three floors for the first time. I bought a slow train to Beijing at 7 o'clock the next morning, a 6 yuan half-price student ticket. What to do that night? Spreading out his own mats, he slept on the cement floor of the station for the night. Later I saw a lot of people sleeping at the train station and I felt that was my experience.

With the knowledge and vision of rural students, I came to the University of Science and Technology of China, which was then located on Yuquan Road in Beijing, known as the "cradle of Chinese scientists". On the first day of registration, I was assigned to Room 421 in Building 7. Go to Building 10 to fetch water, and come back to see that the situation is not right. When I checked in, I obviously saw two leather boxes and two pairs of leather shoes under the opposite bed, and my poor countryman's bed was clean and clean, just a straw mat, and I was particularly impressed. What's going on? The shoes on the opposite side of the suitcase were gone, and when I turned my head to look, my luggage roll was also gone. How strange! Look at the door, "421" is not wrong! Why has the baggage changed? Someone told me, "This is the Chemistry Department!" You're in the wrong building. ”

My family is poor, I have only returned home once in 6 years at HKUST, or my friend Zhang Yiping bought a train ticket for me to go back. During the holidays, I move bricks, organize books, and do small jobs to earn money to buy stationery and books. Thin and ragged, he excelled and served as a class study committee member. At that time, the slogan was "March to Science and Technology", and I was a famous "two-headed strange student": I went to the classroom early in the morning, returned to the dormitory very late, and soaked in the classroom and library for more than a dozen hours a day.

"Talents are out of the sixth and second levels", this is a popular phrase at the University of Science and Technology of China at that time. Not only because of the small enrollment of sixth- and second-level students, and the highest admission scores in the country, but also because since this year, the famous scientists Yan Keats, Hua Luogeng, Qian Xuesen, Ma Dayu, etc. have personally taught classes for the new students of the sixth and second grades of HKUST, which has benefited our generation of students a lot and laid a solid theoretical knowledge foundation.

In January 1967, my classmates and I went to Chongqing for 18 days on foot from Chengdu and climbed Gele Mountain. yes! Burning passion, ambition, impromptu filler "Water Tune Song Head Dengge Leshan":

In the country of Hibiscus, the song is to climb. The cold window is ten years young, and the surprise is to the human world. I want the white clouds to be the driving force, to turn into an eagle and spread its wings, and to rush up to the Ninth Heaven. Sweat and sow spring rain, withering for a new look.

The mountains dance, the waves are gushing, and the springs are sung. There is happiness in this day, and the heavens and the earth are just as wide as my chest! Ann shattered this body, the flesh and bones collapsed into thousands of miles, and the blood rain washed away the dust! In the end, poverty and hatred, Huaxia triumphed.

However, after 6 years of hard study, on the eve of graduation, the catastrophe of the "Cultural Revolution", the whole country was full of smoke, the pursuit of nothingness, and I deeply felt that "the wind and rain are not controlled by people". Remembering poor fathers and elders, living in the countryside, the only son traveling far away, unable to fulfill filial piety. Hope for the family letter, but also fear that the family letter will suddenly arrive. Academics and family affairs are heart-wrenching, full of worries, and resentments are accumulated. Thus the Seven Laws of the Family Letter:

Leaning on the tall building and sighing cowards, who artificially sent the Book of Henan? A family letter with a thousand lines of tears, ten years of cold window gossip furnace. Huafa scratches shorter every year, and the days change in waves. But knowing that the cold wind outside the sai was fierce, he returned to Nanyang to sell erhu.

Ambition is not sent, what is the reward for the hero? From excitement to trepidation, from trepidation to depression, but I firmly believe that there will be a "scientific spring" coming. Poetry, wrote many poems during that time. In June 1968, in the midst of extreme loss, he wrote a poem to his friend Zhang Yiping, "Butterfly Love Flower":

Cut off Anyang Infinity Road. Thousands of miles of wolf smoke, who is the heart to sue? After all, the green mountains can't cover it, and the night dreams of the king.

Long summer rain and fierce winds break the trees, no students, helpless frost and dew. Only wait for the spring and March twilight, there should be flowers in the world.

By the way, when Zhang Yiping and I co-wrote the "Five Strokes Font Training Textbook" 16 years later, I used this poem as a "preface" and printed tens of millions of copies. "There should be flowers in the world" has become a famous saying. It is not only to write the story of our generation, but also to write the history of the resurrection of Chinese characters.

In August 1968, after finally graduating, I was assigned to the first 1424 research institute specializing in large-scale integrated circuit research in the mainland, a military scientific research department of the Sichuan Yongchuan National Defense Science and Technology Commission. Before reporting in, you must first go to the Panjin Dawa Farm in Liaoning Province for one and a half years for "labor training". On the endless saline beach on the bohai Sea, as a squad leader, I came from the countryside, and doing farm work was my strong point, and I participated in the whole process of digging canals to divert water and plant rice. It is a pleasure to watch the rice grow little by little, and to eat the rice you planted yourself in the autumn.

▲ In 1970, Wang Yongmin was in the rural home of Huangludian in Nanzhao County, Henan Province.

In March 1970, after finishing my labor training, I reported to my unit and jumped into 1424 houses in the ravine of Shihe in Yongchuan County (now Chongqing City) in Sichuan Province. Unexpectedly, just one month later, on May 25, I suddenly had acute jaundice hepatitis and was sent to Chongqing Fourth Military Medical University for rescue in a coma, and I lived for eight months. It was postponed for another five years, and the illness was difficult to recover. I can only recall my life path of "sweaty wet clothes" in the hospital, and look forward to the day when "there is a road to the clouds". Feeling overwhelmed by the water and soil, I decided to transfer back to my hometown of Nanyang.

In the Mid-Autumn Festival of 1977, a few days before receiving the transfer order, I suddenly suffered from kidney stone disease, abdominal pain like a knife, sweating, I thought that the liver was ruptured, death was imminent, handed the key to my colleagues, asked a few words, and fell unconscious in pain. After being rescued and treated by the hospital and relieved, he set off to go home. On the way, he wrote the Seven Laws of "Farewell to yongchuan at night":

Jumping off the rock river at night, the wind is clear, and you pack up to catch the way. A frog sound is far away, and the stars and moons are bright in the middle of the day. Talentless Western Shu Tu Xiangshi, there is a desire to learn to cultivate in Nanyang. Heavenly Dao's human feelings are contrary to each other, and they pretend to be eight arrays of meritorious names.

From the age of 25 to 33, fate is uncertain, nothing has been achieved, and eight precious years of youth have passed. But I firmly believe that spring will come, as evidenced by the "Bu Operator Spring Words" filled out when recuperating in my hometown village:

The earth turns the east wind, and the sun comes in spring. After all, the winter is not long, and the green dyes the village road.

Willow worships pedestrians, and Peach Andi smiles. The water is blue and the mountains are green, and the birds are soaring into the sky.

Three

Back in Nanyang, I went to the Nanyang Regional Science and Technology Commission as a clerk. During this period, I read a large number of domestic and foreign scientific and technological journals, and felt the application and development of computers and computer technology in a wide field. An information age with the wide application of computers as the main theme has arrived, and computer technology will sooner or later enter all fields of human life and change the way of working and living of human beings. When my health improved slightly, I used my morning and evening spare time to read and copy computer knowledge. I didn't foresee at that time that "Chinese character input" would become a career that I had struggled for half my life.

Around 1980, how to input Chinese characters belonging to hieroglyphs into computers became a world problem. Some people say: "Computers are gravediggers of Chinese characters". It has been asserted that Chinese characters must be abolished, otherwise China will not be able to use computers extensively, and It will be impossible for China to achieve the four modernizations. Some foreign companies have taken the opportunity to dump bulky and inefficient "one Chinese character one key" keyboards to the country. At the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, an AFP reporter wrote: "Of the 7,000 journalists who covered the Olympics around the world, only Chinese wrote their reports by hand!" ”

In 1978, I took the initiative to ask Miao to find a way out for the Chinese character input computer. At the same time, some people tried different keyboard types to enter Chinese characters, there are thousands of Chinese characters to form a keyboard the size of a table, there are main and auxiliary keyboards that require alternating left and right hands, and medium-sized keyboards that use 256 key blocks to piece together Chinese characters, but they are all because of high cost, low efficiency, huge equipment, and inability to blindly fail.

After that, I embarked on a difficult journey to study Chinese character input computers. My starting point is that such a difficult subject, piecing together a blind man to touch the elephant will never succeed. We must start with the basic theory! I manually decomposed 12,000 Chinese characters into 120,000 cards, stacked up to 12 meters high. By decomposition, 600 character roots are sorted out. But 600 roots, you need 600 keys, and I began to gradually merge and delete. For each reduction of a character root, more than 7,000 Chinese characters of the national standard had to be re-encoded and checked many times. For each key that is compressed, the previously arranged combination of roots needs to be pushed upside down and restarted.

Chinese character input is an interdisciplinary discipline involving linguistics, computer science, ergonomics, psychology, probability theory and other disciplines. I proposed the three principles of "compatibility", "regularity" and "coordination" that the roots must be arranged and combined on the keyboard at the same time, and established a digital model. For example, the principle of "coordination", when entering Chinese characters, the "load" of each finger of the left and right hands has to undergo mathematical statistics and experiments, and the burden of the "capable" index finger is heavier, while the burden of the "incompetent" little finger is much lighter... In this way, we can ensure that the fingers are not tired when typing, and the faster we type.

One dry is 5 years, more than 1800 days and nights, eating and living in the laboratory, liver disease can not be cured, but can not find time to see a doctor. 138 keys, 90 keys, 75 keys, 62 keys, 36 keys, up to the last 25 keys. The fewer keys, the more heavy codes! On New Year's Day 1983, I finally invented a method of "last stroke font recognition code", completed the "top jump" of Chinese character input technology in the world, incorporated Chinese characters into the scientific system that can be efficiently input into computers, and realized the dream of using only 26 letter keys for the original keyboard, and a screw can efficiently blindly type more than 100 Chinese characters per minute without moving. This is the later popular "King Code Five Stroke Font Input Method".

On August 29, 1983, after the appraisal of more than 40 experts and professors from all over the country, it was considered that it was "a Chinese character input scheme with the world's advanced level". Mr. Zheng Yili, a well-known linguist and editor-in-chief of the Yinghua Dictionary, excitedly announced at the appraisal meeting: "From today onwards, the era when Chinese character input cannot be the same as Western chinese is gone. ”

In 1984, I took the five-stroke font software to the United Nations Headquarters for a demonstration. We installed the software, typed it with their standard keyboard, and typed more than 100 words per minute, and the deputy secretary-general of the United Nations was stunned, watching the string of Chinese characters on the screen displayed, and she subconsciously turned the keyboard over to see, thinking that there was something catty in it. I'd say, "Just your keyboad!" (It's your keyboard!) )

Although the "five-stroke font" has become the leader in the fierce competition of more than 300 peers, in order to make this invention benefit the society, to hand over this new technology to the society and to let millions of people master it, it must be promoted and popularized. In October 1984, I came to Beijing with a small bag and lived in the basement of the guest house at No. 135 Central United Front Work Department on Fuyou Street in Beijing for two full years. For the room rate of 7 yuan a day, I often can't pay it. Take a few steamed buns every morning, break them open and put on the pickles, which is the meal of the day. I have traveled to nearly 100 ministries and commissions of the central government, seriously teaching and promoting the five-stroke font... In 1987, the State Science and Technology Commission and the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense issued documents to promote the five-stroke font to the whole army of the country.

Fast forward to 1993, the tenth anniversary of the advent of the five-stroke font, which was widely used at home and abroad. Zhou Gong spit and fed, the cause was comforting, put the pen on hold for ten years, it was rare to be happy, and filled in a song "Butterfly Love Flower" with the original rhyme:

Prancing Horse Kunlun Wind and Snow Road, MoonLight Sheep Intestine, Life and Death By Whom? It is difficult to stop stepping through the Xiongguan Pass, and the mountains are in full view.

Obsessed with ten years of planting iron trees, decorating Shenzhou, unintentionally wafting incense dew. Mo Dao's green silk frost shadow twilight, joyful songs everywhere blossomed.

▲In 1995, in the president's office of Beijing Wangma Company.

In May 1997, after returning from a two-year stay in New York, he worked day and night for only half a year, and was hospitalized with various diseases. On December 15th, coinciding with the 54th birthday, I was grateful for condensing it, and filled in the third song "Butterfly Love Flower" with the rhyme:

Fifteen Spring and Autumn King Yard Road, old schoolboys, hot and cold by whom to sue! Fame and fortune could not be retained, and returned to invite the wine to the king.

Chinese civilization is an ageless tree, rejuvenated and rejuvenated, and loves nectar. Ten thousand horses gallop in the twilight of the sky, and the spring light blooms infinitely.

For more than forty years, our Chinese characters have entered the computer and entered the Internet to benefit our national culture, and I am so lucky to have such a contribution!

If you think about it, the survival of Chinese characters is indeed a big deal. A symbol, thousands of squares, has traveled through thousands of years of time and space, and has run endlessly in the cultural blood of the Chinese nation. Chinese characters are the crystallization of the chinese nation's majestic and heroic and endless spirituality, and are a "cultural cube" with profound connotations that are very different from all Western languages and scripts. Chinese characters are the root of the bloodline of Chinese culture, the "longevity gene" of Chinese civilization, and the psychological totem of the descendants of Yanhuang all over the world. Without Chinese characters, there would be no Chinese culture. The characters written in ancient books must be alive, and Chinese characters must shine in the information age.

Four

On December 18, 2018, at the conference celebrating the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up, the Party Central Committee and the State Council issued me with a certificate and medal for reform pioneers. On this day, I deliberately wore a fuchsia suit.

▲In 2008, the Wang Code Wubi font won the National Technological Invention Award.

Ever since I was 6 years old, when I reported to elementary school and was yelled at by my teachers to cry and go home, I knew the importance of "dressing." But I, a person from the countryside, still can't understand clothes all my life. In elementary school, I thought that my mother's washed clothes were too stiff and too hard, and she always rubbed them with her hands before showing her face. In middle school, in order to avoid the knees and buttocks of the place first grinding, it is ingenious, buy a piece of cloth is to ask the sewing shop to make a "front and back left and right full symmetry", you can change back and forth to wear pants on both sides, but also boasted, is not still two legs? Someone else wears it for a year, and the knees and ass are worn out, and mine can wear it for two years.

In 1962, I was admitted to the University of Science and Technology of China, there was a sewing machine in my grade, I was the first to learn to use it, to mend clothes for everyone, the most difficult thing to mend is of course the most easily worn and narrow place on the knee - to put the head into the trouser tube, make up a piece of cloth on the outside of the trouser tube, sew it in a circle into a swirling shape, and the technical expert who operates the sewing machine in the grade is none other than me.

I graduated, worked, and the conditions were better, but I still didn't understand the clothes, or didn't mind. In 1984, in order to demonstrate the five-stroke font at the United Nations, he was subsidized by the provincial government before going abroad and made his first suit. When "Yijin returned to China", on the occasion of the National Day, before he could return to Zhengzhou, he was appointed by the Henan Provincial Party Committee as the head of the Tiananmen Provincial Ceremony Group for the 35th anniversary of the National Day, and he rushed to make a beige suit, which understood the role of clothes.

However, I still accumulate habits and are difficult to change, and I have always attached great importance to clothes, always thinking that I can cover my body in the summer, it is not cold in winter, I do not understand the style, the clothing is not distinguished, anyway, the cheaper the better. 20 yuan bought a thin white elastic waist pants at the food stall, three years later, the waist of the pants was rotten, made up a circle, and wore it as usual. Learning is in one's own mind, skills are in one's own hands, one is not tall, one looks average, and there is no need to dress up. I bought a reduced-price blue jacket in New York in 1996 and wore it for 25 years, and I still wear it now. In 2000, I bought a pair of casual shoes, which I wore in winter and summer, and after 8 years of "war of resistance", I did not feel anything bad.

A bag of loess on the wall of the rural village in my hometown and an iron nail handmade by my father have been packed in my pocket for decades, accompanied me to Singapore, Japan and the United States, and have walked to the forum of the United Nations five times.

"A scholar, half a peasant" is my self-white description. Being able to endure hardship and not feel bitterness; knowing that it is difficult and not being afraid of difficulty are the habits and persistence I have developed since I was a child. I think that understanding the countryside and being a farmer is an inexhaustible wealth in my life.
