It's you, the Himalayas

(Man's love story on the go)

Mandy Halse from Auckland, New Zealand, and Lee Green from Coventry, England, met on 14 February 1996, Valentine's Day, at an inn in nepal's Himalayas.

The two did not fall in love at first sight, and after traveling together for 2 weeks, they found that they had the same interests and hobbies, and gradually approached, and the love was fixed for life.

At that time, Mandy was preparing to visit a friend in England, and he made a temporary idea, taking a short trip through Thailand and Malaysia. During this time, the tour guide suggested that she travel to Nepal, so she changed her itinerary to Nepal.

Upon arriving in Nepal, Mandy was captivated by the beauty of the route and travelled with the British woman Costi.

Xiao Li and his friend and colleague Murray are postmen, the two originally used the holiday, planning to ride from the United Kingdom to India, after riding 200 miles, realized that the goal of the harsh winter season is not realistic, instead of flying to India, hiking in northern India, all the way to Nepal.

Like all backpackers, we all have a lot of intersections along the way, and after meeting many times, we travel together. Since then, the two have been working while traveling, and the love has continued for 26 years.

The two were married in August 2001 in the back garden of Mandy's mother in Auckland, New Zealand, and Xiao Li's relatives also flew in from the United Kingdom, where everyone ate and drank, played guitar and sang songs from early morning until dawn. Warm and romantic yet alternative rustic.

After marriage, the two decided to live a frugal life, not to have children, and to save money to travel. By 2017, less than 50 years old, the two had saved enough money to retire early and travel full-time.

They limit their daily spending to between $25 and $30, saving money to swim for a lifetime.

After retirement, the two first choice to the place where they met 20 years ago, revisited the place, and had a special love for Nepal, where they met love.

In 2018, the two set up a personal "Qay Traveller" website, set up accounts, and shared frugal travel experiences on the YouTube video site.

During the epidemic, the two are still on the road. However, unlike the past, when they hurriedly punched the clock all over the world, the two are now "slow traveling" and carefully savoring the scenery during the journey.
