On the afternoon of December 7, Sun Haiyang returned to his hometown in Jianli, Hubei Province, with his abducted son Sun Zhuo, who had been abducted for 14 years.

The scene is full of joy. A private car plastered with information about multiple abducted children was slightly abrupt.

The owner of the car, named Du Xiaohua, is a native of Jiangxi. He is one of the prototypes of the movie "Dear", and has been searching for relatives with Sun Haiyang and others for many years. On the same day, Du Xiaohua rushed from Jiangxi to Jianli to congratulate him.

What few people know is that three of the four archetypal characters of "Dear" have found their children, but Du Xiaohua's son Du Houqi has not yet been found.

On December 8, Jimu News reporters talked to Du Xiaohua and listened to him tell about the arduous process of finding a son in the past 10 years.

His 6-year-old son mysteriously disappeared in Baotou

Jimu News: You tell us about your son.

Du Xiaohua: I am 46 years old, a native of Huaiyushan Township, Yushan County, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, and I have learned carpentry skills before. My son Du Houqi was born on April 16, 2005, and when he disappeared in 2011, he was about 1.16 meters tall, with a thin body, a long round face, double eyelids, slightly smaller eyes, an old scar on the bridge of his nose, and a new scar in the corner of his right eye.

Jimu News: How did my son disappear?

Du Xiaohua: In 2008, I took my wife and son to work at the Yufeng Wood Factory in Dulong Guicun, Qingshan District, Baotou City, Inner Mongolia. On the evening of March 6, 2011, I went to the Dongbian factory to discuss with my co-workers about going to Baotou. At about 7:05 p.m. that night, my 6-year-old son came to me from the Western Film Factory and asked me if I wanted to go to Baotou at night, and I told him not to go, so he turned around and went home to find his mother.

After about 20 minutes, my wife came to me and asked where my son had gone and why he hadn't come home yet, so we rushed out to find my son. At that time, it was completely dark, and thirty or forty workers also spontaneously helped search for the factory area and the railway station and bus station in the city, but unfortunately found nothing. I called the police early the next morning, and the police later filed a case, but to this day there is no result.

Pole News: How have you been looking for your son over the years?

Du Xiaohua: After my son disappeared, I put everything down and devoted all my energy to finding my son. Before 2016, I spent most of my year on the road looking for a son. In addition to Tibet and Hainan, I have traveled almost all over the country and distributed hundreds of thousands of search notices.

After 2016, due to the increasing development of the Internet, the work of verifying information has become relatively simple, and I have less time to go out, but I also spend a quarter of the year on the road. Often after receiving information provided by netizens or enthusiastic people, I would rush to the local area, first quietly crouch to inquire, and then ask the local public security department for verification. With the slightest hint of hope, I won't let go of any possible clues.

During the search for relatives, he was slashed at the waist

Jimu News: Have you encountered danger during the search for a child?

Du Xiaohua: One day in 2014, Sun Haiyang and I received news to go to a mountainous village in Linyi to verify the situation of a suspected child who had been bought. Probably because the information was leaked, we arrived in the village and were surrounded by many villagers holding farm tools, and I was cut in the waist by a villager with a scythe-like farm tool. With the help of the police, I was able to get out of danger, stayed in the hospital for more than 20 days before recovering, and now has a scar nearly 10 centimeters long on my waist, which doctors say is only 5 millimeters from the kidneys. I regret that after police verification, the child was not my son.

Jimu News: I heard that in the process of searching for children over the years, you have rescued many abducted children?

Du Xiaohua: One day in June 2011, I received news that there was a group of children of unknown origin in a shopping mall in Hohhot. As I waited, I found five or six children abducted, controlled by several adult men, specializing in stealing. After I called the police, the children were rescued.

In April 2012, I got another clue that a woman in a town in Shangrao Yushan County, Jiangxi Province, had stolen a 4-year-old boy from Zhejiang two years ago and had been locked up in a firewood room, and that she had often abused her children. I verified the situation and reported to the police, and the little boy was finally successfully rescued by the police and is still living in the Yushan County Welfare Institute.

Over the years, I have handed over more than two dozen children to the police for DNA testing and registered samples in the National Trafficking DNA Bank, the oldest of whom is 12 years old and the youngest is only 5 years old.

Jimu News: Jimu News live broadcast Sun Haiyang with his son home to recognize his relatives when the broadcast of your son search information, many netizens pay attention to your situation, received valuable clues?

Du Xiaohua: Thanks to Jimu News for paying attention to me and all the family search groups, after yesterday's live broadcast, I have received calls from a number of netizens, providing me with a number of pieces of information that may be related to my son, and I am verifying them one by one. I hope that someone in the know will provide clues to help me find my son, and I am willing to reward 200,000 yuan.

I firmly believe that I will find my son

Polar News: I heard that you are one of the prototypes of the "Dear" movie?

Du Xiaohua: Chen Kexin, the director of the "Dear" film, has had face-to-face communication with me, Sun Haiyang, Peng Gaofeng, and Wu Yuping, four family seekers, to understand our experience of finding a son. Over the years, I have been in contact with the film star Huang Bo, and after Sun Haiyang found his son, I told Huang Bo the good news for the first time, and he was also very happy. Over the years, as long as there is any good news in the search group, I will tell Huang Bo, and he will congratulate us. Up to now, the children of Sun Haiyang, Peng Gaofeng, and Wu Yuping have all been found, and only my son has not been found.

Jimu News: Seeing the ocean to find my son, what is the mood?

Du Xiaohua: Sun Haiyang and I have formed a deep affection on the road of searching for relatives for many years, and when I learned the news that he had found his son, I immediately sent a red envelope in the search group and reported the good news to the group friends. On the morning of the 7th, I set off from Jiangxi to Sun Haiyang's house to celebrate this happy event and share his joy. On the one hand, I am happy and excited for Sun Haiyang, on the other hand, I also feel some loss for myself. Of course, the ingredients that are happy for him are a little more.

Jimu News: What are your next plans?

Du Xiaohua: In the past two days, I plan to accompany Sun Haiyang to Shandong to meet Guo Gangtang and other old friends who were looking for relatives together. Although I have not yet found my son, I am confident that as long as I try to persevere, I will definitely find my son in the future.
