In 1927, a newlywed couple who had been married for 10 days was separated because the man was targeted by traitors. Who knows, the two will see each other again, ten years later.

This is the love story of Xu Guangda, the founding general of the mainland.

Xu Guangda is a native of Hunan. He came from a poor background, and when he was a child, his family did not have enough money to support him. When he was 7 years old, he had to make ends meet by herding cattle for others.

However, when herding cattle, he was often attracted by the sound of reading from the private school in the village, so he secretly went to the window of the private school to eavesdrop.

At that time, the young Xu Guangda was thin and small, and his body was weak. As a result, during an eavesdropping, he fainted in the cold snow.

Zou Xilu, a teacher at the private school, saw Xu Guangda fainting outside the window, so he helped him to the house and let him rest.

Zou Xilu was impressed by Xu Guangda's perseverance in studying seriously, and decided to accept him as an apprentice and let Xu Guangda study with him without charging a single tuition fee.

Several years of study allowed Xu Guangda to quickly accumulate knowledge, and Zou Xilu was quite satisfied with this young man who studied hard, and even decided to give his daughter Zou Jinghua Xu to him.

The Xu family saw that the Zou family came to the door to propose to them, and very willingly agreed to this "doll kiss". At this time, Xu Guangda was 14 years old and Zou Jinghua was only 9 years old.

A few years later, Xu Guangda successfully entered Changsha Normal School. During this time, he set lofty ambitions, actively participated in the student movement, and also joined the Chinese Communist Party.

Xu Guangda was busy with the revolution and rarely returned home. The two families remembered the doll kiss they had set a few years ago, so they decided to take advantage of Xu Guangda's return home this time to handle the affairs of the two.

When the two were just married, their feelings were very close. Zou Jinghua once asked Xu Guangda whether the peasant movement was progressing smoothly, and Xu Guangda's answer was somewhat concealed because of the nature of his work.

But Zou Jinghua still saw from her husband's eyes the expectations for revolution and the future.

But this calm did not last for a few days, when a relative who worked in the Changsha Guard Department suddenly sent a letter to Xu Guangda, telling Xu Guangda that his identity had been exposed, and that traitors had confessed his true identity and whereabouts, asking him to evacuate quickly.

Zou Jinghua knew everything. She grew up in a family of scholars, and she wiped away her tears of worry and told Xu Guangda: "You are doing the right thing, then go!" ”

Xu Guangda thanked his wife for taking care of the overall situation and bowed away. I haven't seen it in ten years.

In 1931, Xu Guangda was wounded on the battlefield and was sent to Shanghai for treatment. During this period, he sent a handwritten letter to Zou Jinghua in his hometown, expressing his thoughts about her and his hometown.

When Zou Jinghua saw this letter, he couldn't help but burst into tears, kept the letter close to his body, picked up the books, and studied hard, as if her husband was next to him.

When Xu Guangda's next letter was delivered to his wife, it was already a long time apart. The content of the letter was nothing short of bad news for Zou Jinghua: Xu Guangda was moved to the Soviet Union for medical treatment because he was betrayed by traitors.

The letter contained 10 small notes with Xu Guangda's current address written in two Chinese words, which could be sent to the Soviet Union simply by attaching them to the envelope.

What Zou Jinghua, who was full of hope, did not know was that the Sino-Soviet border had been blocked at this time, all ten notes had been used up, and Xu Guangda was still not heard.

At this time, Xu Guangda did not receive a letter from his wife, thinking that her wife had died in the chaotic world, and the sadness in his heart was even more difficult to describe.

The couple, once again, missed each other.

In 1938, Xu Guangda returned to Yan'an to serve as the education chief of kang da. He was already a general, in a high position, and a handsome man, and it was inevitable that someone would match him.

But Xu Guangda said that he must find his wife, even if she has died, he must personally kneel before her grave.

One day, when Xu Guangda was looking through the list of students in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, he found Zou Jinghua's name. Xu Guangda was overjoyed and rushed out of the office to meet his wife.

When Zou Jinghua saw her husband's safe return and excitedly waved to her, the hundred turns in her heart turned into crystal tears and fell bit by bit. As if to fill the gap of ten years of separation, the two embraced each other tightly and for a long time.

From the doll parents in childhood to the ignorance, separation and reunion of adulthood, Xu Guangda and his wife used their love experience to write a two-way love story. No matter where you are, there is always a corner of the other person in your heart, and waiting for that person to return is also a kind of happiness.
