What's the secret to the happiest people?

A recent survey asked young people born between 1980 and 2000 what was their most important life goal?

More than 80 percent say their primary life goal is to become rich; 50 percent mention fame.

There are always voices telling us to put in the work, work hard, and succeed.

We have been in a hurry and non-stop pursuing all this, as if it were a sense of mission that is necessary for human beings.

There's nothing wrong with being self-motivated, so how do you stay happy in the process?

Harvard did one of the longest-running studies of adult development:

Over 75 years, they tracked 724 men. Year after year, ask them about their work, family life, their health, etc.

The clearest message from this 75-year-long study is this: Good relationships make us happier and healthier.

What matters is not the number of friends you have, whether you are in a stable intimate relationship, but the quality of your intimate relationship.

The person who is most satisfied with their intimate relationships at age 50 and the healthiest at age 80.

Good, intimate relationships seem to cushion the bumps we encounter in the aging process.

The happiest partners, both men and women, say after age 80 that they are still happy when they feel more physical pain.

And those in unhappy relationships, when they feel more physical pain, these pains are amplified by increased emotional pain.

What is running a relationship? It's our link to the world.

It doesn't matter if you're 25, or 40, or 60. The possibilities for investing in relationships are limitless for you.

Life is short, seize the time to love!
