Chen Geng had two important women in his life, and his second wife, Fu Ya, had been raising Chen Geng's five children alone after Chen Geng's death, and did not remarry until his death, and in Fu Ya's later years, she also wrote a biography of Chen Geng's ex-wife

In 1939, Chen Geng's first wife, Wang Genying, died in the course of the Japanese army's sweep in order to protect our party's confidential documents.

After Wang Genying's sacrifice, Chen Geng did not renew the string for three years to express his longing for his deceased wife, until Chen Geng later met his future second wife Fu Ya.

At that time, Fu Ya's family had already decided on a marriage for her, and Fu Ya hoped that her fiancé could come to Yan'an together to fight for the revolutionary cause, but her fiancé was not interested in this, and this relationship was not resolved after this.

Later, Fu Ya and Chen Geng knew and fell in love at work, and although the age difference between the two was 15 years, their feelings did not cause estrangement.

In 1943, with the blessing of their comrades-in-arms, Chen Geng and Fu Ya came together, but their union was not smooth.

Because Fu Ya's brother was a Secret Agent of the Kuomintang and did a lot of bad things, Fu Ya was implicated and the organization always refused to approve their marriage.

It was not until Later, when Deng Xiaoping learned of this, that he came forward to speak for his beloved general Chen Geng, and finally after investigation, Fu Ya was a qualified communist fighter, which finally brought the two together.

After marriage, the two gave birth to 4 children in succession, and Fu Ya also regarded Wang Genying's children as his own, and has been taking care of them meticulously.

Because Chen Geng often fought outside and couldn't go home, Fu Ya had always been alone to take care of the 5 children.

After the founding of New China, Fu Ya originally thought that Chen Geng would have time to return home and accompany his children for a while, but when New China was founded, everything was in ruins, and the central authorities were naturally reluctant to give up on talents like Chen Geng.

Later, in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, Chen Geng personally went to the front line as deputy commander of the Volunteer Army to take command.

However, after the end of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, Chen Geng's physical condition deteriorated every day, and he finally died of illness in 1961 at the age of 58.

Although the death of her husband dealt a huge blow to Fu Ya, fu Ya continued to live spiritually at the thought of having 5 children to raise.

Later, in order to alleviate the pain caused by her husband's death, Fu Ya wrote books on weekdays, based on Chen Geng's diary, and wrote a biography of Wang Genying alone, called "Serving the Country He Ji Daughter Body".

As soon as this biography was reported in "Red Flag Fluttering", it caused a great sensation.

After that, Fu Ya also published her husband's diary, so that the world could better understand Chen Geng and those difficult years.

At the same time, Fu Ya regarded Wang Genying's mother as his own mother, often carrying things and sending money to the elderly, so that Wang Genying's mother chanted Fu Ya's name on her deathbed.

In 1992, Fu Ya dragged his elderly and sickly body to Taiwan to meet his family who had been separated for more than 40 years.

Fu Ya died in Beijing in 2010 at the age of 92, and after Chen Geng's death, she had been living alone for 49 years without remarrying.

Fu Ya's life can be described as ordinary but great, and her memories of her husband Chen Geng are still remembered by us today, and that glorious period of time has also deeply touched us.
