At the just-concluded 2022 BMW Group Earnings Annual Meeting, BMW Motorcycles delivered an outstanding result – 194,261 products were delivered to customers worldwide in 2021, an increase of 14.8% year-on-year, a record high. At present, China has become the fifth largest market for BMW motorcycles in the world. In 2021, BMW motorcycle sales in China have steadily climbed, with deliveries exceeding 14,000 units, and winning the sales crown of China's luxury motorcycle segment of more than 800cc.

The steady growth of the business is inseparable from a strong product lineup. Since entering the Chinese market in 2013, BMW Motorcycle has introduced more than 30 models from six major product lines. In 2021, 16 models in 6 series will be updated iteratively to fully meet the diversified cycling needs of Chinese consumers. In 2022, 5 exciting new models will be brought, bringing more and more riding solutions to Chinese cycling enthusiasts.

What is more worth mentioning is that when the global mainstream motorcycle brands are still making efforts in the traditional power field, BMW Motorcycle, which adheres to the sustainable development strategy of the BMW Group, has already laid out the electric motorcycle segment in advance. As early as 2013, the first new energy motorcycle C EVOLUTION was launched, and it was introduced to the Chinese market in 2015.

The new BMW CE 04, unveiled at the BMW Group's annual meeting of the financial report, is the second mass-produced high-end pure electric scooter of BMW Motorcycle. The new car is equipped with a permanent magnet electric motor, the high-power version has a maximum power of 31 kilowatts, which can accelerate the vehicle from 0 to 50 km/h in just 2.6 seconds, and a power battery with a capacity of 8.9 kW hours, which can provide a cruising range of about 130 km. In addition, the new BMW CE 04 is equipped with the largest 10.25-inch TFT LCD instrument cluster in the scooter to date, with a resolution of 1920×720 pixels, excellent readability, clear menu navigation and a highly integrated operating concept, making it a leader in the scooter segment. By activating the navigation function via the BMW Motorrad Connected mobile app, the LCD dashboard displays navigation maps, making it easier to get around and further improving cycling safety. The new BMW CE 04 redefines market segments with its advanced electric drive system and avant-garde connected technology, redefining market segments and delivering highly emotional and innovative travel experiences for riders around the world. The new BMW CE 04 is undoubtedly another milestone in the electrification of BMW's motorcycle urban mobility series, and will clearly guide the direction of future new products.
