Every month, for several models on sale that have been listed in China for less than two years and have a mileage of no more than 5,000 kilometers, through the two dimensions of objective data and subjective feelings, professional reviewers and professional equipment are used to systematically test and evaluate, so as to comprehensively display and analyze the overall commercial level of new cars in the domestic automobile market, and provide consumers with objective and true authoritative opinions and references when purchasing vehicles.
Nowadays, cross-border car manufacturing has become the hottest topic in the automotive industry, and a large number of well-funded technology companies want to get a piece of the car market. Especially in 2022, the high-end model AITO Q&I M5 jointly created by Huawei and Xilis has attracted much attention after its launch. The car is not only equipped with many technology configurations, but also has been blessed by Huawei's Hongmeng intelligent cockpit system, which has made many consumers have a strong interest in it. As of press time, the 2022 Q&I M5 has not received quality complaints since its listing, and its short-term quality reputation performance is worthy of recognition. So, AITO asked whether the M5 can continue the existing good quality reputation performance? Will there be some new problems that are difficult for ordinary consumers to discover? This issue of "New Car Commodity Evaluation" will break through the fog for you, through the objective data and subjective feelings of the two dimensions, restore a real AITO Q&A M5.
1. Objective data
This project mainly shows the performance of the new car in terms of commerciality in the form of objective data through field tests of 12 items such as body technology, paint film level, interior air quality, noise from the car, static vibration in the car, parking radar and lighting/vision.
In the body process testing session, a total of 10 key parts of the vehicle are selected, and 3 key points are selected for measurement in each key part to evaluate the uniformity of the gaps in each key part. Judging from the test results, the uniformity of most of the key point gap data of the car is excellent, and the gap between the left and right sides is not large. The test also found that the gap between the front and rear doors on both sides of the car and between the rear doors and the rear fenders on both sides was slightly larger than other parts, or related to the styling design of its crossover SUV. In addition, during the test, it was also found that all the seams of the car are equipped with sealing strips, which can effectively improve the silence and sealing of the whole vehicle.
In the paint film level test, it was found that the average thickness of the vehicle paint film of AITO Qijie M5 was about 151.5 μm, which exceeded the standard value of advanced vehicles (120 μm-150 μm). The difference in values between the left and right sides of the car is small, and the uniformity of the paint film spraying is worthy of recognition. It should be noted that due to the non-metallic material used in the trunk cover of the car, no valid data could be measured during the test. In addition, there are cases of high values at individual test points on the engine hatch of the car, but it has little impact on the overall test results.
In the in-vehicle air quality testing link, the vehicle is placed in the internal surface parking lot with fewer vehicles, and the formaldehyde content of the AITO Q&I M5 is 0.01mg/m3, which is in line with the relevant standards in the "Guidelines for Air Quality Evaluation in Passenger Cars" (National Standard OF THE People's Republic of China GB/T 27630-2011) jointly issued by the former Ministry of Environmental Protection and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine since March 1, 2012. During the test, it was found that the content of inhalable particulate matter such as PM2.5 in the car was relatively high, or related to the external environment on the day of the test.
In the static noise test link, the front and rear windows of the AITO Inquisition M5 adopt double-layer glass, and the mute effect in the car is good in the static state, and the test results have been reduced to the minimum value of the test instrument 30dB, which can almost be isolated from the external environment. Since the car is a range extender hybrid model, the lcd instrument does not show the traditional tachometer, so it is not possible to test the engine at 2000 rpm and 3000 rpm.
In the air conditioning noise test, the test instrument is placed at a position of about 10cm from the air conditioner outlet, and then the air conditioning air volume is adjusted from small to large, and the noise value of the driver's position in different gears is measured. After actual measurement, the air conditioning air volume of the 2021 AITO Qingjie M5 has a total of 7 gears, the noise value of the air volume is 41.4dB when the air volume is in the starting gear, and the noise value measured when opening the highest grade is 71.7dB, although such a value is within the range that the human body can tolerate, but it will inevitably have a certain impact on the personnel in the car for a long time.
After actual measurement, the vibration value at the steering wheel of the M5 in the idle state is significantly higher than that of other positions inside, the actual body feeling is slightly obvious, the value measured by the driver's seat and the passenger seat in the two states of idle speed and air conditioning load is completely consistent, and the value of the rear seat is relatively close in both states, and both are at a low level.
In addition, we tested parking radar, lights/vision, control systems, tire hubs, sunroofs, seats, and trunks. After actual measurement, the length of the front and rear seat cushions of the AITO Q&A M5 is 490mm and 460mm, respectively, and the length of the rear seats is slightly shorter. In addition, the vehicle's rear radar has a closest distance of 30cm to the object behind it, which is slightly different from the test experience value. The rear seats are fixed and have an angle of 105°. In addition, the car is also equipped with an oversized panoramic canopy, although the lighting effect is increased, but the lack of sunshade sun protection will be reduced.
Second, subjective feelings
The project was subjectively evaluated by a number of reviewers on the actual performance of the new car in terms of static and dynamics. Among them, the static aspect includes four parts: exterior, interior, space and human-computer interaction; the dynamic aspect includes acceleration, braking, steering, driving experience and driving safety. Finally, the total score is given with reference to the subjective evaluation opinions given by the judges, so as to reflect the actual performance of the new car in terms of commerciality from the perspective of subjective feelings.
In the external evaluation, the overall performance of the vehicle is good, and the overall design of the test vehicle is highly recognizable. After opening the engine compartment cover, a large area of cover is used inside, and it is also equipped with silver acoustic cotton to effectively block engine noise. The rear of the vehicle adopts a penetrating taillight, and the visual effect is obvious after lighting. However, the car trunk opening button is set at the bottom of the rear wiper, and the logo is not obvious, and the initial operation is slightly inconvenient.
The interior of the vehicle is relatively simple, and the interior is wrapped in a large number of leather fabrics, with wood grain trim through the center console, which greatly enhances the sense of internal luxury. It is worth mentioning that the owner's driver's seat headrest is also equipped with a speaker and supports separate playback, which has strong practicality and privacy when answering calls using Bluetooth. It is worth noting that the central armrest area of the car is small and does not support adjustment, which cannot provide effective support for the driver's elbow. In addition, all the functions of the car are all concentrated inside the central control screen, the center console does not have physical buttons, which is slightly inconvenient to operate, and the central control screen is also easy to leave fingerprints during operation.
As an SUV model, the car has plenty of space to ride, and because the second row of platforms is flat, it does not feel crowded when riding three people. Under the air conditioner outlet, there is also a cup holder with an internal limited positioner for effective fixation of the water cup and water bottle. Next to the cup holder, it is also equipped with a mobile phone wireless charging board and supports fast charging, which is more practical overall.
On the right side of the gear, there is also a hidden storage compartment and a partition plate, when the partition is removed, a penetrating storage compartment can be formed, but it should be noted that the storage compartment cover will occasionally be stuck when opening and closing. In addition, although this cover design can improve some of the sense of grade, it is a bit chicken from the perspective of practicality. In addition, the lower part of the front console is equipped with separate storage compartments on both sides, but the interior space is average, which will perform better if it is designed through.
The central control large screen is equipped with Huawei Harmony OS car machine system, which operates in a similar way to Huawei tablets, and the overall response is more sensitive, and there is no caton phenomenon. Functional support for navigation, Internet of Vehicles, OTA upgrades, Huawei music, Huawei video, etc. In the case of a network, it can also support various mini programs, such as cloud listening, smart refueling, Sina listening, etc. In terms of human-computer interaction, we only need to say "small art" to wake it up, and the speech recognition is higher and the response is more sensitive during dialogue, which can control multimedia, car windows, navigation, etc. In addition, when the vehicle is bound through the authorization of the Huawei mobile phone account, the vehicle power and location can be viewed on the mobile phone, and remote control such as opening the window can be realized.
In terms of power, the M5 is equipped with a set of extended-range hybrid system, of which the maximum power of the 1.5T engine is 92kW, and the maximum power of the four-wheel drive flagship motor tested this time is 365kW. In terms of batteries, the battery capacity of the new car is 40kWh, the fuel consumption of WLTC is 0.8L/100km, and the comprehensive cruising range will exceed 1000km. At the beginning, the vehicle is more responsible for the motor, and the overall quieter, at this time the deep throttle, the motor and the engine together to provide power for the vehicle, the overall push back feeling is stronger.
The brake pedal of the Q&C M5 is comfortable to the foot, whether it is at low or medium speed, the overall performance is more linear, and the virtual position of the initial section of the brake pedal at low speed is also comfortable.
In terms of steering, the overall feel of the steering wheel is relatively light, and the overall tracking of the front of the car is stronger. The steering system of the car also supports the adjustment of comfort and sports, but the overall experience is not much different. At high speeds, the steering wheel becomes heavier, increasing the driver's confidence in handling.
In terms of suspension, the car is equipped with a front double wishbone independent suspension and a rear multi-link independent suspension. In practice, the overall feeling is more comfortable, and the small vibrations on the road surface can be thoroughly filtered. When passing through the speed bump, the vehicle jumps slightly, which is related to the higher center of gravity of its SUV model.
The M5 has an L2-level intelligent driver assistance system, which integrates 1 visual perception camera, 3 millimeter wave radar, 4 APA cameras and 12 long-distance sound wave radars, in the driving, the vehicle will follow the front car to start and brake, and the vehicle can also steer slightly according to the markings on the road and the amplitude is not very large. When following the car in front, there are 4 gears of adjustable distance, at the closest distance, maintain a body position distance from the car in front, it is easy to be plugged during driving. When the vehicle is plugged, the system occasionally appears to be untimely identification, and there are safety hazards.

Based on the above tests, it is not difficult to see that the M5 of the question has met the expectations of the expert jury in terms of objective data and subjective feelings. In terms of objective data, the gap between the left and right sides of the car is relatively uniform, but there are slight differences between the front and rear doors, as well as between the rear doors and the rear fenders on both sides. In terms of paint film level, the overall thickness of the car is worth affirming, but there are still cases of high values at individual test points. At the level of subjective feelings, the overall performance of the car is also satisfactory, but there is room for improvement in details, such as the design of the front storage space is not reasonable, and the damping of the storage grid cover is abnormal. In terms of driving, the car also has no slot points, and the overall performance is satisfactory. On the whole, the AITO M5 performed well in this commercial test, and the same level of models tested were at the upstream level.
