How should you be filial to your parents after you are rich and prominent?

The practice of Liu Bang, the founding emperor of the Han Dynasty, is worth learning from.

The "Filial Piety Classic", one of the Thirteen Confucian Classics, is a Confucian work centered on "filial piety" and restricting the morality of the ancients, and its main idea can be summarized as one sentence: "Filial piety, the scripture of heaven, the righteousness of the earth, and the deeds of man."

To this day, this view is still shared and adhered to.

Ruling the world with "filial piety" was a kind of governing ideology that began to be adopted in China's feudal era after Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty "deposed hundreds of families and respected Confucianism alone", and was respected by successive rulers.

In fact, the rulers of the early Han Dynasty had already practiced it.

For example, in the story of the Twenty-Four Filial Pieties, the deeds of Emperor Liu Heng of the Han Dynasty who were filial to his mother can be described as well-known to women and Confucians.

In fact, his father Liu Bang's filial piety to his parents is even more wonderful, but it is less known.

1. Create the "Emperor Taishang" system for the father

After Liu Bang established the Han Dynasty as emperor, he worshipped his father Taigong once every five days, still in accordance with the etiquette of ordinary people's fathers and sons meeting.

Taigong's family order persuaded Taigong: "There is no two days in heaven, and there should be no two monarchs on earth." Although the emperor is a son at home, he is the lord of all the people in the world, and although you are a father at home, you are a courtier to the emperor. How can the Lord of nations be called upon to meet his courtiers? In this way, the majesty of the emperor cannot spread all over the world. ”

After hearing this, Taigong agreed very much and decided not to accept Liu Bang's courtship anymore.

When Liu Bang went to see Taigong again, Taigong held a broom and walked backwards facing the door to show his respect for Liu Bang.

Liu Bang was greatly surprised, hurriedly got out of the car, and went forward to help his father.

Taigong said, "The emperor is the lord of all nations, so how can he mess up the rules of the world because of me?" ”

Liu Bang was stunned for a long time, and replied, "Since this is the case, you are the emperor's father, and I will make you the Emperor Taishang." ”

Therefore, Liu Bang honored Taigong as Emperor Taishang and rewarded Jinyan's family order.

2. "Move" your hometown to Chang'an

His son became emperor, and taigong lived a life that he had never dared to think of before. However, after a little longer, Taigong felt that the days of gold and jade food were boring, and he was often sullen and unhappy.

Liu Bang was very puzzled by this, and secretly asked the people around Taigong for the reason.

The next people said, "Tai Ping Sheng likes to be with the vendors who slaughter and sell, and the people who sell wine and bread." He loves cockfighting and kicking football. Now Chang'an had nothing, and Taigong was not happy. ”

Soon after, a city called Xinfeng appeared on the outskirts of Chang'an. Liu Bang moved all the neighbors of the former Taigong's residence to Xinfeng. Peixian's fathers and brothers and relatives and friends drank with taigong every day and laughed about the past.

When Taigong saw that the deceased people around him were still the same, it was like returning to his hometown, and his mood gradually became happy.

How long have you not seen your parents? Have you already taken your parents to live with you? Listening to the story of Liu Bang's filial piety to his parents, did it touch you?
