Zhimu: It doesn't hurt at all that you hit me, which means that you are old

In ancient times, China paid attention to "ruling the world with filial piety", and filial piety was the first.

If a person can fulfill filial piety at home, he can be loyal to the country. If a person is not even filial to his own parents, what good things can he be expected to do? If the father and mother of the imperial court official died, they had to go home to observe filial piety for three years, called "Ding You". The emperor really couldn't do without him, so he forced him to come back to work, which is called "grabbing affection", which means taking away the filial piety of his children. According to this theory, those who beat their parents, robbed their parents' houses, and swept their parents out of the house should be dragged to the noon gate and beheaded for ten minutes.

Under this environment, China has produced the famous "Twenty-Four Filial Pieties" story, of which the representative story is "Dong Yong sold himself to bury his father". This does not need to be explained much, everyone knows. There is also "Wang Xiang lying on the ice to ask for carp", the story is that Wang Xiang's mother wants to eat carp in winter, but unfortunately the nearby small river pond is frozen three feet, and it is impossible to catch fish. Wang Xiang was very anxious, and actually stripped naked and lay on the river to melt the ice, and then fished. Of course, this story is more exaggerated.

Some stories are more absurd, such as "Guo Ju buried his mother". It is said that Guo Ju's family is very poor, and after giving birth to a son, he thinks that taking care of his son will affect the support of his mother, so he plans to bury his son, and accidentally dig out a pot of gold when digging a pit, so that the money to support the elderly mother to raise her son has it.

From a modern perspective, these stories are somewhat bizarre and even contrary to human morality. However, each era has its own limitations. Modern people can understand the filial piety praised in the story, and there is no need to delve into it.

There is also a story called "Ti Qian shang shu shu to save the father". During the Western Han Dynasty, there was a famous doctor named Chun Yuyi, who used to be an official, but later came to see that he was not accustomed to the darkness of the official field, so he abandoned the official to practice medicine and concentrate on treating diseases and saving people. This kind of behavior is almost impossible to do now, and no official has ever heard of changing careers to become a doctor. The dignitaries and nobles in the capital wanted to hire Chun Yuyi as a private doctor, but Chun Yuyi refused to do so, and ran to a place outside the capital to treat people, for which he offended the magnates, was unjustly framed, and sent to the capital to be punished with "five punishments." The five punishments here refer to the five punishments of slavery.

The Qin and Han Dynasties were the period of transition from slavery to feudal society, preserving a large number of political characteristics of the slave era, such as the five punishments: ink, tattooing on the faces of prisoners, which is the lightest, but very hurtful to self-esteem; 劓, cut off the nose; 膑, dig out the kneecap, the famous Sun Zhen, the name is how it came; the palace, without much explanation; DaPu, generally refers to all kinds of cruel death sentences.

Chun Yuyi was arrested and tried the Five Punishments Package. His youngest daughter Chun Yu Ti Followed him and ran to the capital to seek revenge on the emperor and was willing to accept punishment in place of her father. Emperor Wen of Han was greatly moved, re-investigated the case, washed away Chun Yuyi's grievances, and abolished the other four punishments in addition to the death penalty in the five punishments, and changed them to the five punishments of the feudal system. Chun Yu Ti Hao also became a typical of the Twenty-Four Filial Pieties.

Chun Yuyi has a good friend named Han Boyu, who is also filial to his parents. Han Boyu's father died early, and his mother raised him with one hand, and she was extremely compassionate to him. However, in ancient times, it was important to pay attention to filial piety under the stick, and Han Bo was sometimes mischievous, and Han Mu saw that speech education was ineffective, so she used the language of the stick to beat Han Bo better.

At the school age, Han Bo was not good at reading, but he did a smooth job of playing oil poetry, so angry that Mr. Private School blew his beard and stared at his eyes, and Han's mother was beaten up by a fat meal, and then took the troublemaker to Mr. Wang's house to apologize. Han Boyo gradually grew up and began to appreciate the hardships of his mother supporting a family alone and his mother's expectations and hopes for himself, so he became angry and strong, studied seriously, became a model for nearby students, and soon became a small official.

One day, Mr. Private school's son found Han Boyu and wanted to ask Han Boyu to open a back door and help him do something. Han Boyue thought of his husband's earnest teachings, and when his heart softened, he opened the back door once. After Han Mu knew about it, she was furious, and this time she beat Han Bo more and more fleshy, and after the fight, Han Mu held Han Bo Yue's old father's spirit card and cried loudly, saying that she had raised a big corrupt official who had caused public wealth and private wealth and personal pockets for more than twenty years.

Han Boyue was a little aggrieved, arguing that the gentleman had the grace of enlightenment and teaching for himself, which was a small help, and just raising his hand would not harm the court and the people.

Han Mu was even more angry and drank, "Liu Bei did not use the allusion of evil and smallness before he died, did you hear that the dog's belly went?" Which big corrupt official was born a corrupt official? It's not about accumulating from a little evil to a big sin! It is true that you repay mr. Mister's kindness for education, but it should be through the proper channels, not through such a villainous face! ”

These words were like an empowerment, which made Han Bo more and more ashamed, and at the same time admired his mother's greatness even more. He said, "Mother, if I have a bad behavior in the future, you can fight!" If you don't fight, you can't do it. ”

Han Mu touched the scar on Han Boyu's body and said, "Alas, if you don't make a mistake, I am willing to hit you." ”

Every time he was beaten, Han Boyu suffered silently, never crying out in pain, but dissuading his mother not to be angry.

Later, Han Bo became more and more learned, and the officials became bigger and bigger, but as long as they made mistakes, Han Mu still rewarded them with sticks.

One day, Han Boyu quarreled with his wife, fainted for a moment, and shouted at his wife: "You are a woman who does not obey the morality of women, be careful that I leave you with a letter of resignation." "The wife did not scold, she wanted to jump into the well to commit suicide."

Han's mother stopped and was furious with her son: "Daughter-in-law is gentle and frugal, where is the woman's way of not being observed?" Quarrels are quarrels, why should we wrongfully accuse others? She pulled out her feather duster and hit it again.

As he fought, Han Boyu suddenly began to cry.

Han's mother was very strange, before Han Bo was beaten countless times, never cried, before that time to open the back door to the husband's son the hardest did not shed tears, how can I cry so sad today?

Han Boyu cried, "Before you beat me, you said very strongly, I know that you are in good health, and there are still long days to fulfill filial piety." Finding out today that you hit me didn't hurt at all, it means that you are not in good health. How can I not grieve. ”

Mother Han listened, sighed, threw away the feather duster, and couldn't stop sighing. After all, she is old, all parts of her body are aging, and now she coughs at every turn, is prone to thirst, and often has inexplicable fever. Han Boyu kept blaming himself, believing that he was busy with official business and did not know much about his mother's health. He quickly asked Chun Yuyi to come and see his mother.

Chun Yuyi made a diagnosis and treatment, saying that the lungs of the elderly are not very good, fortunately, the problem is not very serious, grab some medicine to eat and slowly nourish it. Chun Yuyi prescribed a prescription, the main ingredient of which is a medicine called ground ginseng. Unfortunately, there are no drugstores nearby. Han Bo asked Chun Yuyi about the shape of the ginseng, and after listening to the introduction, Han Bo was more and more overjoyed, saying: "There are many in my backyard, I will go to collect it." ”

After a while, he picked a lot of ground ginseng and came back, and after a few pairs of soup medicines, Han Mu gradually improved.

Han Boyu consulted with Chun Yuyi: "The name of ground ginseng is easy to confuse with ginseng, so it is better to change the name." ”

Chun Yuyi smiled and said, "This grass can't be found without you, and I can't find it for a while." Zhimu Moruozi. You are so filial to Lingtang, and you can understand all of Lingtang's intentions, just change your name to 'Zhimu'. ”

This story is also called Bo Yu Weeping Staff, and Han Boyu and Chun Yu Ti Qian are also listed in the Twenty-Four Filial Pieties.

Since then, the local ginseng has been renamed Zhimu, representing the filial piety of children to their parents.

There is a poem for praise: Bo Yu wept with the staff of Zhimu Ti To save his father, Emperor Wen
