Han Yu said in the "Sayings of the Master": "Confucius master Tan Zi, Cang Hong, Shi Xiang, Lao Nian. The disciples of Tan Zi are not as wise as Confucius..."

So, who is Tanzi? What have you done? How could he have allowed Confucius to learn from his teacher?

01 "Ask the official" is famous

Tan Zi: Born into a peasant family, he became a monarch, entered the "Twenty-Four Filial Pieties", and became a teacher of Confucius

In the seventeenth year of The Duke of Lu Zhao, in 525 BC, Tan Zi came to Qufu, the capital of the State of Lu, to worship the monarch. Lu Zhaogong was very happy and set up a banquet to entertain TanZi.

Tanzi is an honorific title, not his real name. His surname was "己", and what name he was called seemed to have been lost, but fortunately it didn't matter. What is Lu Zhaogong's name? It doesn't matter, because he's a monarch. It doesn't matter what Tanzi's name is, because he is also a monarch. He is the monarch of the tan country, so people call him tanzi, and if he is the monarch of the tank country, then call him the jar.

His surname is Ji, and he is a descendant of Shao Hao. Shao Hao was the eldest son of the Yellow Emperor and a famous emperor in ancient times, so this Tan Zi had a great future.

However, Tanguo is really too small, there is only one city, Tancheng. Probably in what is now Tancheng County, Shandong.

Lu Zhaogong hosted a banquet to entertain TanZi, the monarch of the vassal state tan. Since he is the monarch of a vassal state, he cannot help but be a little contemptuous in etiquette. One of the ministers of the State of Lu was named Shusun Zhaozi, whose surname was Shusun and was called Zhao, and was honored as "Zi", so he was called Shusun Zhaozi. Don't get me wrong, he wasn't Japanese, because there was no Japan at that time.

Uncle Sun Zhaozi looked down on Tanzi a little, so he ridiculed Tanzi: I heard that Emperor Shaohao liked to use bird names to call official titles, so there was no cultural appearance.

The Lu monarchs and courtiers at the banquet all laughed hesitantly. Because this question is very difficult to answer, the times are so long ago that the most learned people at that time did not know the answer.

Tan Zi immediately understood the intention of his uncle Zhaozi, alas, a weak country has no diplomacy, not to mention that Tan Guo is only a vassal state. However, Tan Zi was not in a hurry, because he was going to explode in talent.

Tan Zi said: The Yellow Emperor used "cloud" to name official positions, and Emperor Yan used "fire" to name official positions. When my ancestor Emperor Shaohao first ascended the throne, a phoenix came, which was very auspicious, so he decided to use bird names to call various official positions. When the phoenix knows the heavens, the official in charge of the heavens is called "Phoenix Bird Clan"; the blue bird chirps in the spring and stops at the time of the summer, so the official in charge of the spring and summer is called the "Blue Bird Clan", and so on.

Uncle Shōko said: The person in charge of education is called "Zhu Jiushi", what is the matter? Could it be that Dove Bird graduated from college?

Tan Zi said: Wishing the dove bird is very filial, so the official who educates the people is called "Zhu Jiushi".

When Tan Zi finished speaking, the monarchs and subjects of the State of Lu all obeyed: This also knows, ah, really an expert in historical research.

This matter soon spread to the society, and the people of Lu Guo knew that Tan Zi was quite knowledgeable. Kong Qiu, who was twenty-seven years old at the time, heard about this and knew that the opportunity was rare, and immediately decided to visit Tanzi.

When Confucius saw Tanzi, he explained that he had come to learn from the ancient official system. Tan Zi had also heard of Confucius, so he did not embarrass Confucius, but only let Confucius worship his teacher.

At the end of his study with Tanzi, Confucius said to everyone: Tanzi is really learned, at least there is a jar of learning, and Tanzi's reputation is really not covered.

02 Deer milk is given to relatives

Why did Confucius say the phrase "Tanzi's reputation is really not covered"? Because, before Confucius worshiped the master and Tan Zi Chaolu, Tan Zi's fame was already very great.

Tan Zi is a famous filial piety!

It turned out that Tan Zi was born into a poor family and was the only child in the family. Generally, only children are very selfish, but Tan Zi is just the opposite, he thinks about people everywhere, and he has nothing to say about his parents, which is called filial piety.

It all benefited from tan's parents' early education of him. Since it is eugenic, it is necessary to be eugenic, and people two thousand years ago have already understood this truth.

When Tan zi was twenty-six or seven years old, fate began to joke with him, perhaps to temper Tan Zi's body and mind, tan zi's parents suddenly lost both eyes at the same time.

This is excessive ha. But what can be done!

Tan Zi was so filial, of course, he immediately began to treat his parents. Then go to the doctor to ask for medicine, and as a result, the Chinese medicine has been eaten for several years, and the slag has been piled up into a hill. In order to find a doctor, I walked all over the town for hundreds of miles.

On this day, Tan Zi found an expert, and the expert told Tan Zi a secret recipe: using wild deer milk as a medicinal primer can cure blindness.

Tan Zi: Then you prescribe medicine to me."

Expert: It is easy to prescribe medicine, but it is difficult to get the drug primer.

Tanzi: Catch a wild deer and squeeze some milk.

Expert: How are the wild deer? Can you catch it? Besides, wild deer are frightened and their milk is poisonous.

There was no way, Tan Zi had to embark on the road to find "wild deer milk", which was another several years. Because the deer are so alert that they can't get close, they run away as soon as you appear.

What to do?

Tan Zi: Born into a peasant family, he became a monarch, entered the "Twenty-Four Filial Pieties", and became a teacher of Confucius

On this day, Tan zi finally came up with a perfect plan: he bought a wild deer skin, attached to the wild deer head, put it on himself, and began to play a deer.

He was very dedicated, and in order to play a deer like a deer, he even slept in deer dung so that he could have the smell of deer. Of course, this behavior is also very dangerous, and he was almost shot to death by the hunter as a real deer.

However, he disguised himself as a wild deer to approach the deer herd, and was accepted by the wild deer. So he secretly squeezed the milk of the wild deer and brought it home.

The medicine primer finally came, tan zi bought the herbs, boiled it into a soup, and gave it to her parents to drink.

Bingo, a miracle happened, and Tanzi's parents' eyes were restored.

When word spread about this, everyone felt that Tan Zi was learned and his moral character was so good, so they all came to learn from him, or simply came to live around his house and let their children learn from Tan Zi and be educated. There were more and more people, and finally this place actually became a city, it became Tan Guo, Tan Zi became the monarch, was honored as Tan Zi, and his original name was forgotten.

The story of Tan Zi to Filial Piety was also included in the "Twenty-Four Filial Pieties", named "Deer Milk Fengqin", which was passed down as a beautiful talk by later generations.
