Experts tell the legendary story of Chun Yuyi and Tai'an: let the traditional culture of Daixia Traditional Chinese Medicine shine again

In the winter of 2012, in Tianhui Town, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, the advent of a Han tomb caused a sensation in the archaeological community. A large number of medical books were unearthed in the tomb, and it was confirmed that there were 8 medical books, and after more than 6 years of painstaking and meticulous collation and research, the research team confirmed that it was the Bian Que and Cang Gong zhuan recorded in the "History of Bian Que Cang Gong Lie".

The thousand-year-old tomb of Canggong Chunyu stands quietly in the south of the village in the middle of Manzhuang Town. In Tianhui Town, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, and Manzhuang Town, Daiyue District, two Han tombs more than 1,000 kilometers apart are closely linked by a legend in the history of traditional Chinese medicine.

Experts tell the legendary story of Chun Yuyi and Tai'an: let the traditional culture of Daixia Traditional Chinese Medicine shine again

A few days ago, Liu Changhua, head of the Tianhui Han Tomb Medical Research Project of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, came to Tai'an for academic exchanges and deeply interpreted the connection between the two Han tombs. According to its interpretation, the medical books displayed on the medical books excavated from the Tomb of Tianhui Han in Chengdu are passed on by Chun Yuyi, which also reflects the long-standing cultural tradition of traditional Chinese medicine in Tai'an from one side, and further excavating and carrying forward these cultures is conducive to the further innovation and breakthrough of traditional Chinese medicine and better promoting the leapfrog development of the medical and health care industry in Tai'an and even a wider range.

Chun Yuyi is the originator of medicine recorded in the canonical history and can be examined

Chun Yuyi, a famous physician in the Western Han Dynasty, was once the chief of Qi Taicang, and was also known as Canggong at that time. Fine medicine, looking at the color to diagnose the pulse, treating diseases and testing. Later, Zhang Zhongjing, Hua Tuo, Wang Shuhe, and others all recounted their learning, and Sima Qian merged him with Bian Que in the "Records of History" to establish a biography, that is, the "Bian Que Cang Gong Lie Biography".

"We tried to find the remains of Canggong during the research process of [Tianhui Han Tomb Medical Jane], and according to the "Records of History", Canggong was a Linzi person, but when we arrived in Zibo, we did not find a clue." Liu Changhua, distinguished professor of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and special director of the Institute of Chinese Excavated Medical Literature and Cultural Relics of the Sichuan Provincial Key Chinese Culture Research Institute, told reporters that according to relevant records, Canggong once practiced medicine in the Tai'an area, and later they went to Tai'an to search and found the tomb of Chun Yuyi.

On the 20th, the reporter and his party drove south to the Chunyuyi Tomb located about 300 meters south of Zhongchunyu Village. After the shower, the air is filled with the smell of rain and grass, and a tall circular tomb comes into view, the cemetery sits north to south, and there are traces of sacrifice on the south side of the cemetery.

Experts tell the legendary story of Chun Yuyi and Tai'an: let the traditional culture of Daixia Traditional Chinese Medicine shine again

According to the Eighteenth Year chronicle of the Republic of China, "Rebuilding Tai'an County Chronicle": Chun Yuyi (205 BC ~ 140 BC), the western Han Dynasty Qi Linzi people, surnamed Chun Yu, name Meaning, Shi Qi, for Taicang Ling, Lian Ping, the number of Taicang Gong. Because he was caught by mistake, he scolded his daughter: "Giving birth to a daughter does not give birth to a man, and there is nothing to be ashamed of." The little girl Ti Qian please enter the customs and write to save her father. Emperor Wen of Han was so moved by this that he ordered the removal of corporal punishment. After Chun Yuyi was pardoned, he worshiped the folk doctors Gongsun Guang and Gong Chengyang as teachers, devoted himself to practicing medicine, concentrated on practicing medicine, especially jingwang diagnosis, and used both acupuncture and medicine, with remarkable curative effect. He was buried here after his death.

"Chun Yuyi's tomb is known locally as the 'Tomb of the Nine Women', and it was a landmark when I was a child." Song Shaoquan, a 78-year-old villager, said that since he can remember, there have been many tall and stout pine trees around Chun Yuyi's tomb, and because the tomb is relatively high, the pine trees cannot reach the top of the tomb. "Legend has it that Chun Yuyi had nine daughters, and after his death, each of the nine daughters would bring two truckloads of soil from other places every year, so the tomb became taller and taller. In the past, these four corners all had a stone hammer head about one meter high, like a boundary line or something. Old Man Song Shaoquan pointed to the four directions of the tombstone.

"One of Chun Yuyi's most important contributions to medicine was the creation of the 'medical record', which is what we call medical records today." Zhao Hanju, the former first secretary of Zhongchun Yu Village and director of the Manzhuang Town Judicial Office, said. Chen Qi, head of the cultural relics section of the Daiyue District Cultural and Tourism Bureau, said: "According to the research, Chun Yu means a famous medical scientist in the Western Han Dynasty and the founder of traditional Chinese medicine medical records. The "History of Bian Quecang Gonglie" records his pulse diagnosis and medicine case, and his achievements have made an unprecedented contribution to the history of medicine in the motherland, so his name has been recorded in the annals of history and has become a generation of famous doctors respected by the world. ”

It is understood that in 1956, chun Yuyi's tomb was discovered during a census of cultural relics in Tai'an County (now Tai'an City), in 1957 the Tai'an County People's Committee designated it as the first batch of cultural relics and monuments that should be protected, in 1979 the Tai'an County Revolutionary Committee announced it as the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in the county, and in 1996 the people's government of the suburbs of Tai'an City (now Daiyue District) announced it as the second batch of district-level key cultural relics protection units. In January 2016, the Tai'an Municipal People's Government announced it as the fourth batch of municipal cultural relics protection units. In the winter of 2016, the earth was repaired and protected by a 1.04-meter-high brick wall. At present, the status quo of Chunyuyi Tomb is better protected.

Experts tell the legendary story of Chun Yuyi and Tai'an: let the traditional culture of Daixia Traditional Chinese Medicine shine again

The "Chronicle of Tai'an County" says: "Chun Yu Yi Tomb: In Zhongzheng District Chun Yu Han surname Mengbei. The tomb is twelve steps and eight feet high. Seven cypress trees were planted in the Qing Dynasty, which was quite spectacular. Liu Changhua said that the villages around the tomb are Nanchunyu Village and Zhongchunyu Village, which confirms the inseparable connection between Canggong Chunyuyi and Tai'an.

According to relevant historical records, ZhongchunYu Village was founded in the Spring and Autumn Period, and the Western Han Dynasty Chunyu was buried here after his death, so it was renamed Chunyu. "We have known Chun Yuyi since we were young, and the nearby medical atmosphere is also very prosperous. During the New Year's Festival, villagers spontaneously go to the tomb to worship. Villager Song Shaoqing said. Today, the sincere medical spirit of Chun Yu Yi Da doctor is still enjoyed by the villagers of Chun Yu Village in Manzhuang Town.

Medical simplicity is of great significance and has an important impact on the development of traditional Chinese medicine in Tai'an

According to Liu Changhua, the most important discovery of the Tianhui Han Tomb Medical Jane is the "Pulse Book, Shangjing" and "Pulse Book, Xiajing", which can be called medical classics, and the two medicines predate the "Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic" that has been handed down to this day for at least three hundred years. At the same time, it also proves that the Yellow Emperor's Inner Classics are interpretations of these classics, and have been compiled by later generations.

After thousands of years, the culture of Traditional Chinese medicine still has a vivid vitality. Liu Changhua believes that the innate characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine are a kind of health medicine, and the discoveries of this batch of medical janes play an important supporting role in academic research and inspiring the development of public health today. "This batch of medical books has lasted for a long time, especially the book "Heqi TangFa" records the Western Han Dynasty in 150 BC, and we have the formula of Chinese medicine Chinese. At the same time, it also tells us what the principle of acupuncture in Chinese medicine is. Liu Changhua said that in this batch of medical books, there are also methods for treating diseases, and these formulas are worth further in-depth study today.

In the "Records of History", the historian Sima Qian recorded two famous doctors, who were representative of the famous doctors at that time. "Today we found that the various connections between Canggong and Tai'an are a kind of luck and a mission. How to carry forward the history and culture of Yichun in Italian medicine, I think Tai'an can make a great difference. Liu Changhua said that previously, the scientific research team deduced from a large number of dialects that appeared in the literature that this batch of medical janes came from Shandong and was brought to Sichuan by the owner of the tomb. During the Western Han Dynasty, the owner of the tomb took medical books and traveled more than 1,000 kilometers to Chengdu to spread the medicine that originated in Qilu, and took root and blossomed in Chengdu, cultivating many famous doctors. The contents of 8 kinds of medical books, such as "Pulse Book, Shangjing", "Pulse Book, Lower Classic", and "Heqi Tang Method" in the Tianhui Medical Jane, basically cover the Canggong ancestral medicine.

Xie Tao, the leader of the Chengdu Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology responsible for the excavation of the Tianhui Han Tomb, introduced in an interview with the media that the medical Jane found in the tomb not only treats horses, but also how to train horses. Coincidentally, among the canggong disciples, there was a "Taicang horse chief" Feng Xin, who also practiced the art of horse medicine. Liu Changhua said that the discovery of the Book of Healing Horses corroborates from another side that it is most likely canggong's work.

The researchers also found that during the Western Han Dynasty, patients had already used "proprietary Chinese medicine". In the brief text of the "Heqi Tang Method", there are 106 kinds of prescriptions, of which compounds account for 80%, and the treatment content includes multidisciplinary diseases such as internal, external, gynecological and pediatric, and there are detailed descriptions of the composition of the agent, the preparation process, the method of taking and the contraindications.

Liu Changhua suggested that Taian can seize this opportunity to promote the development of TCM health. For example, the ChunYuyi Memorial Hall can be established to display the history, contributions and sincere ideas of Canggong through the memorial hall, spread the culture of traditional Chinese medicine, and improve the health literacy of the people. While promoting culture, medical institutions have deeply studied the ancient economic, research and medical ideas, and increased their efforts to promote the development of the traditional Chinese medicine and health industry.

According to records, Chun Yuyi has trained many students, and Liu Changhua believes that with the help of such a historical tradition, the Canggong Traditional Chinese Medicine Training School can be established to cultivate professional talents and further promote the spread and development of Traditional Chinese medicine culture.
