Three famous schools in South Korea have had cases of Omicron, and the patients have all been to the same church

The Church in Korea where the Omicron outbreak occurred

According to Yonhap News Agency, south Korean epidemic prevention department said on the 7th that three foreign students studying at three famous universities in South Korea, namely Foreign Chinese University, Kyung Hee University and Seoul National University, were infected with the Aomi Kerong mutant strain. This is the first case of Omi Kerong in Seoul.

All of the international students have been to a church where the Omiljung outbreak occurred. There are concerns that Aomi Kerong may use major universities as the main means of transmission to spread in downtown Seoul.

The three universities with confirmed cases are currently investigating the trajectory of the cases, formulating epidemic prevention measures, and not excluding the possibility of new cases. The University of Foreign Affairs of Korea has decided to change all courses to online teaching by the 14th; Seoul National University has decided to isolate close contacts and consider allowing people in dormitories where the confirmed cases live to undergo rapid molecular diagnostic testing; Kyung Hee University plans to recommend that all students living on the same floor as the confirmed international students be tested for the virus.
