From the late 1960s to the mid-1970s, it was a fiery era when the young intellectuals of the mainland went to the mountains and the countryside to receive re-education from the poor and lower-middle peasants. I am a young man who has returned to my hometown, and I have experienced many details of the young people in the city who came to the countryside through that period, and I still remember them vividly.
In the autumn of 1968, Zhiqing came to our village with 10 people, and I heard that they were student dolls near the Bridge Zikou in Xi'an City. The villagers feel that this city baby is a long foreign atmosphere, the age is not big, certainly can not eat the suffering of the countryside, will not stay long, sooner or later will leave.
The county and communes have documents, and they must take good care of Zhiqing and must not have contradictions or conflicts with Zhiqing. Murakami arranged for Zhiqing to live together and sent special people to cook and eat, and the masses privately called these Zhiqing "high-voltage electricity" unbearable.
My hometown is on the north bank of the Jing River in Shaanxi, pingchuan, drought and flood to ensure harvest, but the collective farmland, lack of fertilizer and thin land, the yield is not high, there is not much public wheat grain left in the summer, I go to school in the county, take food for a week, eat sweet potatoes three days after eating steamed buns. Murakami also planted cotton as required, and it was not good to harvest more rain in autumn, and the economic benefits were very small.
At that time, it was a fact that rural life was poor, and there were more coarse grains and fewer grains, and the diet was poor. Although the intensity of murakami's labor is not large, but the time is long, Zhiqing can't stand it. Later, Murakami did not arrange to cook for Zhiqing, and the Zhiqing did it themselves, often making trouble with each other, and if they did not live for a single piece, the brigade separated the Zhiqing into multiple production teams. The villages have never known that young people are laborers, and if they are willing to attend work, they will be given work points, and at the end of the year, if the work points are less than enough to offset the grain, they will pay for it themselves. Wherever the young people wish to go, no one will stop them. Girls who don't leave don't cause trouble, and at most they don't work or go back to the city for a few days. Boys are more mischievous, in their words, "do a small action, and shake the apricot tree of people." Farmers talked about "stealing chickens and dogs to pluck garlic seedlings." This is also forced by the poor life.
Zhiqing is in the countryside, and what awaits every year is the recruitment target. Whatever the job, leave first. Like what pig farm, cotton factory, Chang'an County Instrument Factory, etc., whether it is a large collective or a state-run, as long as there is an opportunity, they are willing to go. In the countryside, most of them stayed for 2 to 5 years when they left, and the longest one was 8 years, when I was already in Xi'an.
In 1972, I returned to the village after graduating from high school in the county, and I was one of the first high school students after the Cultural Revolution, and the number was very small. The secretary of the brigade came to my house and said that the brigade had studied it and asked me to be the secretary of the brigade and regiment branch.
Remember, there are only two female intellectuals left in the village, and any difficulties must be taken care of. One day, a female Intellectual, named "Xianxian", came to the brigade to find me with a crying face. Saying that they live, the rich peasants live in the backyard, they live in the front yard, and the kulaks have demolished the partition wall from where they live, which is bullying them, how to live in the future.
I said: This is enough, follow me, I will help you clean him up. I reprimanded the kulaks and obediently put the partition wall back on the line.
Later, there were recruitment targets, as long as one person left, I quickly held a meeting of the league branch and approved this young man as a full member of the league. At that time, a person's political conditions are very important.
Later, the second wave of Zhiqing came, this time there were many boys, often giving them fights and conflicts.
The secretary of the brigade asked me to become a private teacher, and a year later, in 1974, I had the opportunity to finally realize my dream of going to school in Xi'an.
One of the remaining female intellectuals stayed in the countryside for 8 years, and did not return to Xi'an until 1976. #Xi'an Headline#
