Expert commentary
"Maybe there's wormwood in the sweetness of an apple." Perhaps, this is the inevitable "result" of human existence and death; such an outcome is only a "result" that ordinary people believe but are difficult to express. Man, in a sense, is nothing more than the birth and death of an apple; this fate from birth to death may only be dynamically expressed by the poet in a more sensitive and pictographic language. Throughout the ages, there have been many works that talk about life and death, and Wen Jingtian has expressed his own expression of "life and death" in his own words and in his own language. It is remarkable that only in the poet with a high degree of height, expression is not and will not be a thin "expression".
Right. We are all living tasters and creators. We all have a hard time escaping "shape and color"; we seem to be "living on the surface of the world". However, only those who are good thinkers can "sink" to a deeper point... It is more likely that only the poet, in "every beautiful day", feels the "emptiness" of the whole world, which is natural, and as a poet, can be cultivated out of the "result". Indeed, the world we live in, the whole world is a world that needs to be tempered! The poet becomes an executor of a self-conscious avant-garde art! As a poet, Wen Jingtian lived in this so-called "empty city" illuminated by the so-called "beautiful sun"; why did the poet have this kind of enlightenment? Why can a poet come to such a "conclusion"? Perhaps, this is the same "problem" that requires humanity to rethink: a real body, often beaten into a breathless wanderer by this "empty city" world, and the spiritual self in the flesh will stand more powerfully. This is the best view of the existence as a poet!
"The light looks at the demented face / as if a moment has illuminated you and my long twilight years"! Such language will pierce into people's hearts at once. Such a sentence, like a sudden fire in the darkness, will illuminate every tired heart. And such verses, in the twenty-first century today, appear not many, but very few. It is no wonder that it is all due to this era, people have rarely or even, no longer in the scope of thinking, carefully look at the world of "you and me"! So, at the last moment of reading this poem, I will be shocked – really – shocked!
As a poem, if it can make people completely impressed, it is nothing more than poetry, which has entered the interior of man, and it is nothing more than its interaction and adhesion with the reader, which produces a kind of soul communion and adhesion; such a poem, of course, will make the reader produce - surprise about art! "A wild horse / can no longer catch up with the six subways" - and everything in the past is contained in the "six subways"; this is probably the major reason why the vicissitudes are highlighted and presented. Human beings always need to look back, stay, taste, salvage, and live for it in time. Wen Jingtian used a short dozen lines of poetry to present and express the dilemma, confusion and the vicissitudes of life's fate that existed under the "Li rio Sky City" with the artistic means of neo-surrealistism! yes. Perhaps the real existence of human beings, only "twilight years", can be used - "blue sky with strings can be washed white" or even "washed white", washed existence itself - all of which "intervenes" and "levitates"!
