Every family in the country must have a male soldier enlisted in the Royal Army of Bhutan

The Kingdom of Bhutan is located on the southern slope of the eastern section of the Himalayas between China and India (belonging to the southern bottom of the Tibetan Plateau). It has an area of about 38,000 square kilometers, which is about the size of the mainland's Taiwan Province. Population 749,000 (December 2020). Ethnic Bhutanese make up about 50 per cent of the total population and ethnic Nepali about 35 per cent.

In February 2007, the revised NCPOA was signed with India. It is stipulated that Bhutan's foreign relations are subject to India's "guidance".

The Armed Forces of Bhutan consist of three areas:

The first is the royal army, which has 10,000 people, mainly to defend the king and the royal family, but also to maintain stability in the country.

Second, there is the police force, which has more than 20,000 people, mainly across the country, to maintain law and order.

Third, there is the militia. Since the founding of Bhutan, there has been an unwritten rule that every family in Bhutan must have a male to enlist in the army, or be ready to enlist at any time.

So in fact, Bhutan is a country where all the people are soldiers, maintaining a huge armed force, which is a small country with the most troops.

The ranks of Bhutanese Army officers are Marshal, Admiral, Lieutenant General, Major General, Brigadier General, Colonel, Lieutenant Colonel and Major, Captain, Lieutenant and Lieutenant. There are many elements of this that are very similar to India. The first is to adopt the British rank system, and the design of the rank logo is also the Style of the British Army, such as the rank symbol of the brigadier general and the colonel is a series, such as the use of the crown pattern on the rank symbol.

The reason why Bhutan has built so many armies or India is not much disputed on the mainland and Bhutan's border. It was because of India's involvement that there was a lot of controversy, and India helped build a huge army so that it could directly obey India. On many border issues, it is possible to act in the name of Bhutan and avoid direct conflict.
