After the public security received the villagers' report, they immediately came to the scene with the cultural relics department to investigate. Later, after more than 5 years of archaeological excavations, experts judged that this was the tomb of Liu He, the 9th emperor of the Western Han Dynasty and the first generation of Hai Xiahou.
More than 20,000 cultural relics were unearthed from the tomb of Hai Di Hou, a staggering amount of gold, bronze, carriage and horse ware, bronze ware, etc., and it is particularly jaw-dropping that as many as 10 tons and 2 million pieces of five baht money were excavated. It shows Liu He's extremely rich and luxurious life before his death.
Grave robbers have drilled a 14.8-meter-deep cave, and archaeologists say there is still a 5-centimeter gap to be excavated to accompany the burials. Fortunately, the vigilance of the villagers did not let the tomb robbers succeed. However, the tomb robbers had already emptied the cemetery of Lady Hai Xiahou first.
This is not the first time that the tomb of the Marquis of Haixia has been robbed. Archaeologists found lamps from the Five Dynasties period during excavations, indicating that some people had tried to rob tombs during the Five Dynasties period, but failed to succeed. At that time, the tomb robbers could not have imagined that the tools of their own crimes had become cultural relics!
As the saying goes, "Han tomb ten rooms and nine empty", the Han Dynasty popular thick burial, the number of funerary products is huge, the sign is obvious, widely loved by tomb robbers. The tomb of the Marquis of Haidian is still there for thousands of years, and it is also related to the natural disasters experienced in the local area. During the Eastern Jin Dynasty, an earthquake occurred in the local area, causing the burial chamber to collapse and be submerged by groundwater, but protecting the cemetery.
Liu He's life was like a roller coaster, combining kings, princes, emperors, and common people: he inherited the throne of Changyi at the age of 5; at the age of 19, he was mistakenly chosen by Huo Guang to inherit the throne, and was deposed and demoted to a shuren in only 27 days; at the age of 30, he was crowned the Marquis of Haidian by Emperor Xuan of Han and assigned to Haidian County, Jiangxi; and he died of depression four years later.
A thousand years later, Liu He's cemetery reappeared in the sky, restoring his different side from the history books.
