According to the data, there are 35 models of SUVs with wholesale sales of more than 10,000 units in December 2021, two of which have sold more than 40,000 units. The Haval H6 topped the SUV sales with 42,787 units, down 23.1% year-on-year. Tesla Model Y sales reached a new high, reaching 40,558 units, ranking second.
MG ZS wholesale sales reached 23,292 units, ranking third, an increase of 39.1% year-on-year. Volkswagen Tuyue ranked fourth, with sales of 21,491 units in December, up 67.9% year-on-year.
Honda XR-V wholesale sales of 20,895 units, ranked fifth, down 12.1% year-on-year. Its "big brother" Honda CR-V sold 19,857 units, ranking sixth, down 47.2% year-on-year.
In addition, Honda Binzhi and Honda Haoying both sold more than 10,000 vehicles, of which Binzhi sold 18,701 vehicles, an increase of 23.5% year-on-year; Haoying sold 12,857 vehicles, down 37.2% year-on-year. Of Honda's four popular SUV models, only Binzhi maintained year-on-year sales, and the other three models did not sell as much as in the same period last year.
BYD Song New Energy sales continued to be hot, ranking seventh in December with sales of 19,172 vehicles, up 904.8% year-on-year.
Wuling Xingchen, which was recently listed, reached a new high in December, reaching 19,073 vehicles, ranking eighth, surpassing the traditional hot sales such as Geely Boyue and Changan CS75. Geely Boyue ranked ninth, with sales of 19,048 units in December. The sales volume of Changan CS75 was 15,163 units, ranking only eighteenth, down 36.9% year-on-year. It is reported that the second generation of Changan CS75 PLUS will officially open pre-sale on January 20. As a mid-term redesign, it has been fully upgraded and optimized in terms of appearance, interior, configuration, etc., and the new car is equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard.
Chery Tiggo 8 sold 18,526 units, ranking tenth, down 16.1% year-on-year, but still the best-selling self-owned mid-size SUV model. Domestic medium-sized SUVs such as the Jietu X70 series and the Hongqi HS5 have good sales, reaching 16,748 units and 15,094 units in December, respectively.
In terms of Volkswagen brands, in addition to Tuyue, Volkswagen Tiguan L sold 16,970 vehicles, Volkswagen Tangyue sold 13,495 vehicles, and Volkswagen Tange sold 10,040 vehicles. In addition, FAW-Volkswagen Jetta VS5 sales also exceeded 10,000 units, reaching 10,694 units.
In terms of Toyota brands, Toyota RAV4 Rongfang sold 16,408 vehicles in December, Toyota Veranda sold 16,279 vehicles, and Toyota Highlander sold 14,401 vehicles.
In terms of luxury brands, in addition to the Tesla Model Y, Mercedes-Benz GLC sold 13,706 units, a slight decrease of 3.3% year-on-year. Audi Q5L sold 10,424 units, up 2.7% year-on-year. BMW X3 sales were only 8390 units, down 23.3% year-on-year.
