But in the professor's view, this is actually inevitable, because in the future, what we can buy will be the kind of super cost-saving models that "run more than 1000km with a tank of fuel" and "the driving cost is less than 1 cent".
BYD's suspension of pure fuel vehicles is just the beginning...
BYD's transformation is actually not radical, because it is "just discontinuing pure fuel vehicles, not just pure electric vehicles."
First of all, let's take a look at today's BYD product matrix, the only pure fuel vehicles on sale today are BYD F3, Song PLUS, Song Pro, Qin Pro and Qin, etc., boldly discontinuing the 8 models.
The actual sales of most of these models are not high, of which the BYD F3 of 44,900-50,800 should have been discontinued long ago, it plays a "negative image" for the brand upwards, and the average consumer will not choose it, in 2021, it will only have 29,177 units in the annual sales, and even less than the monthly sales of some models.

According to BYD's sales in February, the proportion of new energy models has exceeded 75%, so giving up pure fuel vehicles is not painful at all for BYD.

The reason why we dare to give up pure fuel vehicles so boldly is that there is a policy to promote it. The general direction of the mainland is "to achieve carbon emission peak by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060".

But to achieve this goal, pure fuel vehicles said that concubines can't do it ~ this is considered to be more technical tree points foreign brands are deeply aware.
For example, Mazda, which racked its brains to tinker with the engine, developed a 2.0L compression-ignition engine with a target thermal efficiency of 50% (the actual amount is not known), but on the compact sedan Axela, its domestic NEDC fuel consumption also reached 5.2L/100 km, which failed.

So the higher-end WEY latte DHT PHEV is also on the way, in addition, the Great Wall system also has a 1.5L HEV/PHEV powertrain, and the Macchiato DHT-PHEV has a minimum power loss of 4.4L/100 km, and there is a pure electric endurance of 110 km.
But you think that's the limit? The above is more of a PHEV model, full of electricity and full fuel to achieve 1200 km endurance. This is not the case:

In general, BYD's suspension of pure fuel vehicles is just a beginning, the future will have more and more traditional brands to join the new energy camp, policy promotion + demand, these new energy vehicles, especially PHEV models, are gradually replacing pure fuel vehicles on the stage, it can be oilable and electric, no endurance anxiety, and do not have to worry about installing charging piles.
