The Southeast Asian auto market is such a state, where Japanese brands instill concepts all over the place, Vios is lower than Yaris, Fengfan is lower than Fit, Innova is lower than Voxy. Due to road conditions, oil products and other issues, Japanese brands will inject some special vehicles into this huge market, such as one that we are very familiar with - FAW Senya.
We all know how low-class that car is.
Vietnamese people also seem to hate this state. In 2021 Vietnam sold 410,000 cars. In it, we'll see European boutique cars, American cars, and less American-style American pickups — in short, you won't find the rules.

For comparison, the Honda Brio in the same class costs VND418 million (115,000 RMB), while Kia's Morning is cheaper, at VND 300 million, equivalent to 83,000 RMB.
In other words, Vietnamese people buy this domestic brand not because of the cost performance... VinFast Fadil's only value-for-money advantage is probably that it has a 1.4L engine, which is slightly better than the 1.2L weak chickens in the same class.
Moreover, the first sales in other Southeast Asian countries may be Suzuki, it may be Corolla, it may be Yaris, only Vietnam, only Vietnam, their first-selling car, is an Opel.

This Opel has the dynamics to press the same class of models to the ground to hit high quality. I don't know for a moment whether the Vietnamese recognize VinFast because the dynamic quality is high enough, or because patriotic education is well done, or if it is really cost-effective in places I don't know. Second place: Hyundai Yasent, sales of 19956 units, down 3.9% year-on-year

This is Toyota, this is a big space sedan, this car is cheap, and there is no reason for developing consumers not to like Vios. The only difference with us is that we have a complete automotive industry and know what a normal car should look like, so we welcome the large Vios – like Xuanyi and Corolla.
But from the decline of Vios, you can see that in 2020, Vios in Vietnam is selling well, but we don't know whether it is because of the rise of VinFast Fadil, which has led to The less popular Vios, or because the epidemic has affected the economy, resulting in consumers who could have bought Vios and bought cheaper VinFast Fadil.
Fourth place, Toyota Corolla Sharp, sales of 18,411 units, an increase of 211.2% year-on-year
If I had to choose between Corolla and Corolla Reshot in Vietnam, I would most likely choose Corolla Reshot, for the simple reason that Corolla in Vietnam has not been replaced until now.
As a new car of TNGA architecture, the latest 1.8 hybrid and TSS driver assistance system is also equipped with The Corolla Replay. Therefore, it is not surprising that Corolla Sharpen was able to rush to the fourth place at once.
