According to GAC Trumpchi, the second-generation GS8 is the first Chinese brand model equipped with Toyota THS hybrid technology. In terms of specific parameters, the second-generation GS8's closely watched dual engine series has an acceleration time of 6.9 seconds per 100 kilometers, the fuel consumption of 100 kilometers under NEDC conditions is 5.3 liters, under normal conditions, a tank of fuel can travel more than 1,000 kilometers, and in the case of extreme testing, the mileage of a tank of fuel can reach 2022 kilometers.

The second-generation GS8 is listed in fuel version and hybrid dual engine version. Among them, there are 4 models in the fuel version and 2 models in the hybrid dual engine version. In terms of price, the official price of the six models of the two versions is lower than the pre-price. The four models of the fuel version are priced at 186,800 yuan to 239,800 yuan, and the two models of the hybrid dual engine version are slightly more expensive than the fuel version, and the price is 228,800 yuan to 246,800 yuan.

The reporter previously talked with Qi Hongzhong about the cost of the hybrid system and its products, and as far as the current domestic automobile market is concerned, the cost of the hybrid system and its products is higher than that of a single system. Qi Hongzhong said that the products carried by the above system are basically in a state of profit, and after the scale is landed, the profit situation will gradually be revealed.

At present, the technology equipped with the second-generation GS8 dual engine series and its appearance, interior, etc., it has a certain competitive advantage in the market of hybrid models of the same level, and the price is almost the same as that of the hybrid models of the same level, and the landing price is about 240,000 yuan, but it remains to be seen whether the second-generation GS8 can stand out in the competition.

In addition, as far as the positioning of the second-generation GS8 is concerned, it continues the market tone of the first-generation GS8. At that time, the domestic independent brand market had not yet been fully opened, and the first generation of Trumpchi GS8 had taken the lead in breaking the ceiling of 200,000 yuan for its own brand, competing with the joint venture brand for the SUV market, subverting the inherent pattern of the medium and large SUV market, and becoming the first medium and large SUV of its own brand with cumulative sales exceeding 220,000 units.

The second-generation GS8 is still focused on the medium and large SUV market, based on the modular architecture of GAC's global platform GPMA-L platform. According to reports, the platform is the flagship platform for medium and large products, L includes Large (large space) and Luxury (luxury) double meaning, the future GAC Trumpchi other flagship models will also be born on the platform.

Although it is also positioned as a medium and large SUV, the second generation of GS8 has changed in many ways compared with the previous generation of GS8. Based on the GPMA-L platform, the second-generation GS8 has increased its steering response by 28.3%, the braking system stiffness by 30%, the braking efficiency by 5%, the response time of the four-wheel drive system by 25%, and the control performance has been improved by generations.

Following the listing of the second-generation GS8, GAC Trumpchi will gradually embark on a comprehensive hybridization, and from the perspective of time, the hybridization of GAC Trumpchi has been opened in 2008. In 2017, GAC Trumpchi launched its first hybrid vehicle, the first generation of PEV of the Trumpchi GS4. For the delivery of the second-generation GS8, GAC Trumpchi said that the current chip supply situation is gradually improving, and it will be scheduled and started in strict accordance with the order order ordered by the user under the confirmation of the GAC Trumpchi APP. The reporter learned from the sales of GAC Trumpchi 4S store that the second-generation GS8 dual engine series is now ordered and is expected to pick up the car within 3 months.

At present, GAC Trumpchi is moving towards the goal of "hybridization of all models in 2025, hybrid sales accounting for more than 60% in 2030, and challenge to achieve carbon neutrality by 2045". The reporter learned that in addition to the hybrid system equipped with the second-generation GS8, another hybrid system of "Green Engine Technology", namely the GMC system independently developed by GAC, will be carried on the PHEV of GAC Trumpchi A-class vehicles and B-class vehicles, further reducing the carbon emission and fuel consumption of all vehicles, and the products equipped with the second-generation GMC system will be mass-produced next year.
