Although looking at the automotive industry chain in the Yangtze River Delta region, most of the relevant enterprises have started to resume work through the coordination of the government, which can be subject to the chain reaction caused by the irregular rise of the epidemic, and the supply of local parts companies for car companies in China remains at a low level. The impact of this on the automotive industry is evident.
On Friday, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers estimated that the sales volume of the automotive industry last month was expected to be only 1.171 million units, down 47.6% month-on-month and 48.1% year-on-year, based on weekly report data reported by key enterprises. Even in January-April, sales are expected to decline by 12.3% year-on-year.
In other words, throughout April, in addition to a few car companies such as BYD, which has built its own perfect supply system, the current situation of year-on-year sales plunging may make many car companies fall into passivity.
However, for GAC Group, which is located in South China, due to the fact that the core market is far from the Yangtze River Delta, its companies have responded in advance and other practical factors, and the decline in sales has been maintained within a controllable range.
The Group's sales in April were 124,304 units, down 33.56% year-on-year, but cumulative sales from January to April rose 7.14% year-on-year to 732,471 units, outperforming the broader market.

Trumpchi revived, and Ean had to hold on
Among them, what needs to be affirmed is that GAC Trumpchi, which has always been the core of the autonomous sector of GAC Group. In such a volatile market environment in the first four months, it is not easy to achieve cumulative sales of 110,566 units, an increase of 10.57% year-on-year.

From January to April, the Group sold a total of 64,184 new energy vehicles, an increase of 104% year-on-year, which indeed showed the determination of the entire GAC to deal with the transformation of electrification. However, it is clear that compared with other joint ventures under the group, the biggest contributor to this situation is still gagae Aian.
GAC Aeon, which has been operating independently for more than a year, has always occupied the top spot in the sales list. All along, the parallel development path of independent + joint venture is what GAC Group has always adhered to. But at present, when Trumpchi and E-An have each set an example in the transformation of the industry with their own abilities, what GAC needs to be vigilant about will inevitably return to the ability of the three joint ventures of GAC Mitsubishi, GAC Honda and GAC Toyota to execute on electrification and other projects.
Counting carefully, as early as March 23, GAC Mitsubishi officially launched the pure electric SUV Attuco AIRTREK, with an official guidance price of 19.98-22.98 million yuan.
On April 12, according to the latest electrification business progress announced by Honda, Honda will start from the adjustment of organizational structure from this fiscal year, and then increase research and development in key areas such as electrification products and services, batteries, energy, hydrogen fuel, and software in the future. Guangqi Honda also closely follows the global direction of Honda Automobile and strives to land on the pure electric brand e:NP.
