The traditional diet of the Orunchun people is mainly meat. The E people, whose main production activities are hunting, all kinds of wild animals and poultry have become daily food. Therefore, horses and shotguns have become the favorites of the Orunchun people. Continuing from the distant history, the men in the Wulilen (family) hunted en masse, and the hunted beasts and birds were shared equally, and this primitive distribution system continued until the early years of the Republic of China. At that time, the main targets of hunting were deer, bears, roe deer, wild boar, gray rats, etc., as well as birds such as flying dragons, tree chickens, pheasants, etc., and used to entertain distinguished guests.

Large and small Xing'anling rivers are everywhere, streams are longitudinal, and more than a dozen kinds of fish such as fine scaled fish, Zheluo fish, and salmon are delicious and abnormal. Birch bark boats and harpoons have become the daily companions of the Orunchun people.

In addition to fishing and hunting, mountain forest collection is a necessary supplement to the lives of mountain people. Pine seeds, hazelnuts, persimmons, wild grapes, mountain red, Yagda and other nuts, berries, bracken, parsley, artemisia sprouts, yellow cauliflower, astragalus, goji berries, shellfish and other herbs of wild vegetables, mushrooms, fungus, ganoderma lucidum and other fungi, it can be said that the grass on the tree is buried in the soil, everything is available. To this day, mountain mining is an important economic activity for local mountain people.

The life of the Orunchun people is inseparable from wine, in addition to resisting the high cold, more is the bold character of the Orunchun people, which can be played with the help of wine. In the past, it was mostly traditional handicraft liquors made of horse milk and millet, but now they are in line with modern life, and all kinds of famous and special liquors are available, and each needs to be taken. The local specialties that ladies like are wild wine, goji berries, persimmons, blueberry drinks, etc., which are also renovated and have their own markets.

In the long years before settling down, the Orunchun people mainly lived in the Immortal Pillar, also known as the Puluozi. It is made of more than thirty wooden poles to form a conical shelf, and the birch bark is covered like a tile in the summer, and the cover in the winter is made of roe deer skin. Now hunting points or pastures in the mountains and forests can still see this kind of shack-style fairy pillar, but more as a tourist landscape, exquisitely built, simple, and without losing the original quaint flavor.

At present, the residence of the Orunchun people is no longer much different from the Han people, and unlike them, their desire to express history, folklore and culture is often conveyed in the form of auspicious patterns and ornaments. After visiting ali river several times, I noticed that most of the buildings here are carved or painted with auspicious patterns or patterns with national characteristics. There are primitive faith totems, multi-god belief worship objects, animals, birds, plants, mountains and rivers, wind and clouds, so that this nation's life ideals and cultural mentality are vividly displayed. I was once invited to the home of an E-friend, a beautifully made birch-skin painting with an ice and snow mountain forest as the background, a decorative bow and arrow, several birch-skin utensils of different shapes, and several traditional E-ethnic ornament pendants, all of which strongly convey the historical and cultural information of the Orunchun people. Through those memory symbols, it seems to tell the world that the people of Orunchun love their history, love this ancient mountain forest, and miss the life and way of life handed down by their ancestors.

In history, the orunchun people traveled, relying on horses and reindeer, in winter there were speeding sleighs, snow climbing plows, large rudders, birch boats on the water, whether it was a vast forest sea, a thousand miles of snow, or a clear river, it would be in the sound of hooves, snow whistles, under the stalk, just around the corner. Now, all kinds of modern means of transport have replaced the original horseshoe boats. Those horse hunting, reindeer, sleighs, birch canoes, etc., have been used as sports and leisure, cultural tourism props, playing the role of mountain forest owners, greeting tourists outside the mountain.
