Curry won this season's CPOY by beating Alexander and DeRozan in total points in voting for the Best Key Player award, becoming only the second player in history to win this award since Fox, Curry won the first CPOY in his career and the first in Warriors history.

The Warriors officially posted a poster to congratulate Curry on winning the award for the first time.

It is worth mentioning that the Best Key Player award is a new award added by the NBA last season and is named after NBA legend Jerry West.

Alexander averaged 30.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 2 steals per game, shooting 53.5% from the field, 35.3% from three-point range, and 87.4% from the free throw line, averaging 3.2 minutes per game in key moments, 3.3 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.6 assists, scoring a total of 112 points in key moments, with a record of 23 wins and 11 losses, and the Thunder's final record in the regular season was 57-25, ranking first in the West.
