The reason for the recall is reportedly a hidden danger in the insulation of high-voltage batteries in plug-in hybrid models. The battery will become hot when used, and the insulation layer will cause a fire if there is a hidden danger. To date, 16 cases have been reported in Germany.
It is reported that these 100,000 vehicle models not only include Volkswagen brand models, but also Brand models such as Seat, Skoda, and Audi. The Volkswagen brand will recall 42,300 vehicles, including Passat, Golf, Tiguan and Arteon models. Audi will recall 24,400 vehicle models.
