The story behind Chinese investors helping Hungary's lithium-ion battery industry, the world's second-largest production

Hungary, a country with a unique charm, has a population of nearly 10 million, more than 9.7 million to be exact. It is located in the heart of Central Europe, and its geographical location is clear from the world map. The country's historical and cultural background is particularly fascinating, and its main ethnic group, the Magyars, carries a deep historical heritage.

The story behind Chinese investors helping Hungary's lithium-ion battery industry, the world's second-largest production

Back in ancient Rome, the eastern, central, and northern parts of Europe were seen as barbarian settlements. In that era, the Romans considered themselves Latins and positioned themselves as models of civilization, while the other ethnic groups collectively referred to as "barbarians". These "barbarians" can be broadly divided into three main groups: Slavs, Germanic peoples, and Celts.

In the long course of history, many ethnic groups have migrated and multiplied, changing the original pattern. The descendants of the Celts, an ancient ethnic group that once spread widely across France, have migrated to Ireland and elsewhere in search of a new home. The Germanic peoples, a powerful ethnic group, have left a deep mark on Austria, Switzerland, Germany and the Nordic region. It is worth mentioning that our outstanding teacher, Mr. Andrew Charlison, is one of the descendants of the Germanic people, and the wisdom and courage of this ancient people flow in his veins.

Hungary, as a distinct people, is actually also a branch of the Germanic ethnic spectrum. It borders the large Slavic peoples to the east, but it is worth noting that the Malza are not one of the many ethnic groups. This unique geographical location and ethnic composition make the Hungarian nation relatively small in terms of population size, but it stands on its own with its unique way of living and cultural characteristics.

From the point of view of ethnic distribution, Hungary's neighboring countries belong mainly to Germanic or Slavic peoples. However, Hungary itself stands out for its unique national identity. At the same time, certain countries around Hungary, such as the Czech Republic and Serbia, enjoyed greater political independence and religious affiliations to the Christian family, but not to Orthodox denominations. In stark contrast, regions such as Ukraine and Serbia are largely Orthodox faiths.

When we turn our eyes to the West, we can see that there are mainly Catholic and Christian denominations. Hungary is located at the intersection of these two religions, making Christianity another distinguishing feature of the country. This background of religious mixing undoubtedly adds a rich cultural color and profound historical heritage to Hungary.

In terms of ethnic background, Hungary, although located in Central Europe, does not have exactly the same ethnic origins as the surrounding Germanic or Slavic peoples. This allows Hungary to exhibit a unique sense of autonomy culturally, neither fully integrated into the mainstream European culture, nor fully independent. Hungarian is a language unique to Hungary and belongs to the Ural language family, which is significantly different from the Indo-European languages of the surrounding countries. This linguistic uniqueness also reflects the cultural uniqueness of Hungary, where many unique traditions and cultural activities are preserved in terms of traditional customs, where family values are very important.

It is precisely for this reason that he, as a leader with unique national characteristics and a deep religious belief, must focus on handling diplomatic relations with neighboring countries. Otherwise, it will lead to a serious cultural conflict, which in turn will bring great difficulties to the country. Thus, we can see that the Hungarian government has done quite well in dealing with international affairs, especially in relations with its neighbours, especially the current government, which has taken this to the extreme.

Although Hungary is one of the important members of the European Union and NATO, when the EU or NATO tried to take certain actions against China, he resolutely voted against it, and even exercised this right many times. This has angered some officials within the EU, who have even proposed to change the EU's voting rules, because under the current rules, the relevant resolution can only take effect after all member states reach a consensus, and as long as any country expresses opposition, the resolution cannot be passed. As a result, many European countries, such as Germany, have come to view Hungary as an "authoritarian government" rather than a democratic government in the true sense of the word. However, it is worth noting that Hungary is also an elected regime, and the country maintains extremely friendly relations with China. The roots of this friendly relationship are: first, China's development and construction have a positive role in promoting Hungary's own prosperity; Secondly, the Hungarian government is well aware that safeguarding national sovereignty and independence is its top priority, and no matter what pressures and challenges it faces, it cannot be easily compromised.

Hungary has shown remarkable strength in the field of lithium-ion battery production, with the world's second-largest production volume, after the tech giant USA, and a significant share of the international market. As European automakers continue to invest in R&D for electric models, their reliance on lithium-ion batteries produced in Hungary is becoming more pronounced. Hungary is home to five or six high-profile lithium-ion battery manufacturers, most of whom are backed by Chinese investors, which not only demonstrates China's influence in the global new energy industry chain, but also proves Hungary's attractiveness and competitiveness in this field.

In addition, Hungary is strategically located at the heart of the Sino-European trade route, making it an important hub for the distribution of goods. Countless trains and containers arriving through the China-Europe Express transit here, injecting strong vitality into Europe's logistics network. Hungary is not only a shining pearl of the new energy industry, but also a commercial bridge connecting the East and the West.

When it comes to Hungary, we have to mention its rich food culture. Among them, Glass Soup, a soup known as the national dish of Hungary, is loved by people from all over Europe, including strict Germans, enthusiastic Russians, and tough Ukrainians. Featuring potatoes, beef and tomatoes, this soup has been carefully prepared by Hungarian chefs to create an unforgettable flavour. It not only represents the love and respect of Hungarians for ingredients, but also shows the unique charm of the country's food culture. This soup is not only a delicious food, but also a sense of the depth and uniqueness of Hungarian culture.
