For an absolutely disruptive product for electric vehicles: solid-state batteries, in fact, many media have begun to render it since 2022, as if that is the real starting point of electric vehicles, otherwise it is not perfect.

As we all know, compared with the current lithium iron phosphate batteries and ternary lithium batteries, solid-state batteries have a higher safety factor, more recharge times (longer service life), and the endurance will become more outstanding. Theoretically, the assembly of a medium-capacity solid-state battery can easily exceed 1000km of battery life, and even if it is fully charged and discharged three times a day, it can theoretically be used for more than 30 years. Therefore, solid-state batteries are also considered by many consumers to be an epoch-making product, but all-solid-state batteries have not been mass-produced so far, and none of them have been produced.

At the beginning of this year, SAIC Motor said that it had developed a solid-state battery, and it had been mass-produced, and it had indeed been equipped with the Zhiji L6 model, which caused many people to be in an uproar. However, after careful in-depth research, it was found that this is only a semi-solid-state battery, and there is still a long way to go to develop a true all-solid-state battery, otherwise Toyota would not have said that the mass production of solid-state batteries in small batches will be postponed until 2030 at the earliest.

At present, the mainstream battery manufacturers on the market include CATL and BYD's Foday batteries. In addition to these two, there is another battery manufacturer, which is Guoxuan Hi-Tech.

Although this battery manufacturer is not as famous as the above two companies, you can take a look at the battery parts manufacturers of their electric vehicles, and many electric car power batteries are actually this company, so this is a relatively "invisible" battery manufacturer.

What I didn't expect was that at the 13th Science and Technology Conference in mid-May, Gotion Hi-Tech released the first all-solid-state battery, called Jinshi Battery. The manufacturer also said that it will be mass-produced when it is released, and it is expected to be officially put into production in the middle of this year, which should be the first company in the world to truly mass-produce solid-state batteries.

According to the introduction, the energy density of the new Jinshi battery has reached 350wh/kg, which is 140% of the energy density of ternary lithium batteries. In the words of the manufacturer, once an electric vehicle with a range of 700km is replaced with a Jinshi battery, the range will exceed 1000km. The battery also has the characteristics of high temperature resistance, because the test batteries have all passed the two hundred degrees of high temperature chamber for baking test. So it won't be long before the range anxiety of electric vehicles is officially overcome, and there is no spontaneous combustion. What's more, the energy replenishment speed of the all-solid-state battery will be greatly enhanced, and it only takes 9 minutes to replenish the ultra-long range of 600km, which is almost as fast as refueling.

With the new battery set to be installed in the next few months, there is no doubt that the market share of gasoline vehicles will decline again. In fact, in April this year, the penetration rate of electric vehicles has exceeded 50% for the first time, and with the mass production of all-solid-state batteries, the shortcomings of electric vehicles will be officially overcome, and electric vehicles will usher in a new spring.
