Hello Tibetan friends, today we have invited Mr. Tang Fazhou, then the successor of Qi Baishi, the disciple of Qi Liangzhi, the president of the Chinese Qi Baishi Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, the visiting professor of the Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts, the official image spokesperson of NetEase Group, the specially invited teaching and research director, the contracted painter of Beijing Academy of Fine Arts and Rong Bao Zhai, the expert of Qi Baishi's calligraphy and painting big data identification, the president of the Shanghai Qi Baishi Art Research Association, and the chief operating officer of Baishi Shantang Culture Media-Mr. Tang Fazhou once heard his master Qi Baishi's little daughter Qi Liangzhi say: Qi Baishi's name is Huang, the word is on the verge of life, and the name is Baishi, It was after he apprenticed at the age of 26 that Hu Qinyuan and Chen Shao started it. However, judging from his works around the age of 30, he wrote "Huang" or "endangered" when he was in his name, and only wrote "Shiraishi Weng" more when he was in his fifties. In order to solve this problem, in addition to relying on the facial features such as paintings and inscriptions, we can also further identify the age of Qi Baishi's works according to the "Baishi Weng" seal. Qi Baishi's bell used the "Baishi Weng" seal about more than ten squares, and now select three of them to illustrate.

(1) White text "Shiraishi 翁" seal

In 1920, after the 57-year-old Qi Baishi returned to Beijing, because Longquan Temple is located in the south of the city, very remote, and the traffic is inconvenient, he moved to the stone stirrup nunnery in the Guanwu Gate, and then because the monks of the stone stirrup nunnery have many chickens and dogs, the sound of chickens and dogs is incessant every day, very noisy, and hinders artistic creation, so it moved to No. 6, the three fences in the south of the West Fourth Archway. In 1923, Qi Zishi, then 60 years old, moved from Sandao Fence to No. 1 Gaochala of Taipingqiao. This square seal is engraved here and now, and Qi Baishi engraved in the border paragraph: "In July of Guihai (1923), Baishi published himself, and lived by the Jinghua Taiping Bridge." Fan Ling has this "Baishi Weng" seal of Qi Baishi's calligraphy and painting works, and its creation time should be no earlier than 1923.

(2) White text "Shiraishi 翁" seal

In the two books "The Life of Qi Baishi", which was dictated by Qi Baishi and recorded by Zhang Cixi, "The Life of Qi Baishi", there is no mention of Qi Baishi's return to Hunan to visit relatives at the age of 62, but the visit was written in 1926, when Qi Baishi was 63 years old. In the book "My Grandfather Old Man Baishi" written by Qi Folai, it is recorded that Qi Baishi returned to his hometown in 1925. Qi Baishi once wrote in the self-note of "Baishi Poems and Grass": "Yichou (1925) returned to Xiangtan in April, the green forest was like scales, and he did not dare to return to his hometown and province, and he hated things in his life." It can be seen from this that Qi Baishi did return to his hometown in 1925, but because of the unstable situation, he did not dare to go home again after arriving in Xiangtan. This "white stone Weng" seal was engraved in 1925, he engraved in the side paragraph: "B ugly April, Yu returned to the family and relatives, stayed in Changsha, there is a painter who thinks that there is no mark in the painting, it is not enough to believe, Yu Yin published this stone." The remaining three-character small seal of 'Baishi Weng' has four stones, and the later appraisers should pay attention. Shiraishi self-published and recorded. From this, it can be seen that Qi Baishi's visit to relatives failed, not only stayed in Xiangtan, but also stayed in Changsha. Therefore, the creation time of Qi Baishi's calligraphy and painting works with this seal should be no earlier than 1925.

(3) Zhu Wen's "White Stone Weng" seal

In 1934, at the age of seventy-one, Qi Baishi was still living in Beijing. The seal of "Baishi Weng" was engraved in the here and now, and he engraved in the side paragraph: "The three characters of Yu's 'Baishi Weng' are printed in this five-fold change, Jiacheng (1934) September, Baishi." Therefore, the creation time of Qi Baishi's calligraphy and painting works with this square seal should be no earlier than 1934.
