Since Audi announced its electrification strategy in 2019, it has used four platforms to manufacture different kinds of electric models: MLBevo, J1 high-performance electric platform, MEB platform and PPE platform.
J1 high-performance electric platform: Derived from the MSB fuel platform of the top models of the Volkswagen Group, the J1 platform was developed by the Porsche brand to build high-performance vehicles such as the Porsche Taycan.
PPE platform: Developed by the Audi and Porsche brands in cooperation to manufacture mid-size and large sedans and SUVs, shared with Porsche.
MEB platform: The Volkswagen Group's dedicated vehicle manufacturing platform for electric vehicles, mainly used to manufacture the Volkswagen ID. series models.
