The British-American writer James Hilton published a novel, Lost Horizon, in 1933. The plot of the novel is: the protagonist Conway and others are hijacked by the plane and land on the desolate snow field of eternity. In the "Valley of the Blue Moon", they met the indigenous people who could speak English and led them to a place called "Shangri-La".
