On January 20th, AITO Q&I M5 held an early-hand test drive activity in Beijing, where two major links were set up on the spot: static experience for the new HarmonyOS smart cockpit and dynamic test drive for the comprehensive performance of the vehicle. AITO is a new brand built by Xilis and Huawei, and the M5 is the first model under the AITO brand. With a length, width and height of 4770/1930/1625mm and a wheelbase of 2880mm, the new car is positioned as a mid-size SUV.
AiTO Inquisition M5 adopts a coupe streamlined body design, combining natural aesthetics and hydrodynamic design, so that the whole vehicle has a calm sense of movement. AITO Q&I M5 is equipped with a pure electric drive range extender platform specially built for the range extender system, its 1.5T four-cylinder range extender 3.0, with a super compression ratio of 15:1 and 41% ultra-high thermal efficiency, the maximum power generation efficiency is 3.2kW·h/L, full oil and full power, to achieve WLTC working conditions of more than 1100 km. The drive system adopts an asynchronous AC motor on the front axle and a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the rear axle to form a dual-motor four-wheel drive system. Due to the weather, the AITO M5 was conducted at a test drive with temperatures of minus 7 degrees Celsius, and although the ground was cleared of snow, the track was still slippery. Such site conditions and temperature conditions undoubtedly bring a certain test to the performance of vehicles.
AITO Wonder M5 adopts an all-aluminum alloy chassis that will only be used in high-end SUVs, and the whole vehicle adopts front double wishbones and rear trapezoidal multi-link independent suspension, which is not only high rigidity, but also has good roll suppression, and achieves body stability and no tilting feeling when cornering quickly.
In the actual driving process, the M5 has a good performance in S-bending pile test, emergency avoidance and other subjects. The M5 adopts the way of direct connection between the range extender and the generator, and its 1.5T four-cylinder special range extender 3.0 is only responsible for charging the generator and does not participate in the drive of the power system. Through the intelligent range extension strategy, we can calmly cope with various working conditions, replenish power and maintain SOC stability.
Of course, the AITO M5 is still inevitable to compare it with the same brother Cyrus SF5 after all. In terms of body size, the AITO Inquisition M5 has increased by 70mm in terms of length, the width and height are unchanged, and the wheelbase has increased by 5mm. In addition, the minimum ground clearance of the AITO Boundary M5 is 150mm, which is 31mm less than the SF5's 181mm. At the same time, the output power and torque of the front motor of the M5 are also reduced by 90kW and 100Nm respectively compared to the SF5, while the output power and torque of the rear motor remain unchanged. Although the power of the Q&I M5 has decreased, the acceleration ability has not changed much compared to the Cyrus SF5. It can be seen that the M5 phase of the race SF5 further strengthens the stability design of the vehicle, which is to position the SUV of the M5 more thoroughly.
With the car-making foundation of Cyrus SF5, AITO Q&I M5 is actually a new car manufactured by absorbing Cyrus' deep experience in car manufacturing technology and standing at a higher starting point, and under the empowerment of Huawei's whole value chain, AITO Q&I M5 will build a new mobile travel driving experience with "people" as the core, and its follow-up market performance is expected.
