Among the four major categories, the cumulative sales of sedans for the whole year were 9.846 million units, an increase of 6.4% year-on-year, the cumulative sales of MPV models were 1.079 million units, down 1.0% year-on-year, SUVs sold 9.221 million units in the whole year, an increase of 3.0% year-on-year, and new energy vehicles sold 2.989 million units in the whole year, an increase of 169.1% year-on-year.
It can be seen from the data that although the sales growth rate of the domestic automobile market is small, it can still stabilize sales overall, and the substantial increase in sales of new energy vehicles has also brought new development momentum to the domestic automobile market.

However, the top three manufacturers have a certain degree of decline in sales compared with last year.

Among them, BYD occupied the top position with the cumulative sales of 584,020 vehicles for the whole year, an increase of 221.3% year-on-year. In 2021, BYD has gradually added a version equipped with dm-i plug-in hybrid system to all models, reducing fuel consumption while maintaining excellent power performance. As for the list of new energy manufacturers in December, BYD also ranked first, while Tesla China and SAIC-GM-Wuling ranked second and third respectively.
From the perspective of development momentum, the domestic new energy vehicle market is already in the stage of taking off in 2021, and in the next 2022, the domestic new energy vehicle market is expected to have better performance.
