SAIC Motor's passenger cars, SAIC Volkswagen, SAIC-GM and other vehicles, parts and logistics enterprises, aiming at personnel support, supply chain guarantee, logistics guarantee, closed production management, epidemic prevention measures, etc., launched the stress test of resuming work and production on April 18. On August 19, the first vehicle of the Lingang Passenger Vehicle Factory under the pressure test rolled off the production line, and more than 700 vehicles have stepped off the assembly line so far.

The reporter saw in the factory workshop that the automobile production line continued to run, the workers installed doors for the body, and the complete vehicle that had been installed was undergoing lighting, rain and other adjustment tests. Chen Peifeng, director of SAIC's Lingang Automaker, said that under full load, the workshop can produce more than 900 cars a day, "but it has just begun to climb the slope, and the resumption of work and production is undergoing stress testing."
He said the company still faces supply chain problems. According to the current logistics situation of the supply chain, the Lingang factory has also made timely adjustments to the production plan.
Ji Qiwei said that the daily production of SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle Company is a double-shift operation, and the current productivity is maintained at about 50% of the single shift, and the rhythm of the entire supply chain and the overall situation of resuming work need to be further improved. The automotive industry has a long supply chain, with thousands of suppliers. It is precisely for this reason that enterprises need to conduct stress tests to gradually increase production capacity by pulling the entire industrial chain, understanding the current long and short boards.

He also said that the current difficulties encountered by the company in resuming work and production lie in the materials, the entire supply chain is uneven, the environment of suppliers in various regions, the status of employees are different, and the long and short boards are also revealed. "That's what it's like for us to do stress tests, and now everyone stops all at once, and it's impossible to walk in unison as soon as we blow a whistle." Huang Jianying, secretary of the Party Committee of SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle Company, also pointed out that the company has conducted a comprehensive survey of supplier capacity, inventory and raw materials for the supply chain and logistics guarantees facing challenges in resuming work and production. At the same time, we are also paying close attention to the personnel dynamics and production situation of lower-level suppliers, and assisting and supporting lower-level suppliers to accelerate the process and prevent epidemics and resume production as much as possible.
