According to data from the China Automobile Association, the sales volume of self-owned brand passenger cars in 2021 reached 9.543 million units, with a market share of 44%, up 6 percentage points year-on-year.
Among them, Geely Automobile's annual sales reached 1.32 million units, Great Wall Motor's reached 1.28 million units, Changan Automobile's reached 1.2 million units, Chery Automobile's 960,000 units, and BYD's 730,000 units.
2. United States

The second place is the United States, the cumulative sales of the U.S. auto market in 2021 is 14947180, although it is nearly 6.5 million vehicles away from the Chinese auto market, but to say that the car penetration rate, the United States should be the first, after all, the United States only has more than 300 million people. The brands that sold best in the U.S. auto market were Toyota (1.932 million units), Ford (1.804 million units) and Chevrolet (1.469 million units).
3, Japan

This is followed by Japan, where cumulative sales in the Japanese auto market will be 4448376 in 2021, compared with the United States, car sales are more than 3 times different, and there has been a cliff-like decline. However, it is easy to understand that Japan is a very small country with a population of only 126 million.
It is worth mentioning that Japan's automobile industry started very early, and the three best-selling brands in Japan are all Japanese brands, namely Toyota (1.389 million units), Suzuki (609,000 units), and Honda (579,000 units).
But countries with more people, or countries with larger land areas, do not necessarily sell more cars, such as India (NO.4), which has a population of 1.4 billion, but only 3.08 million cars in the whole year; or Russia, the largest country, has only 1.66 million cars sold in the whole year.
5. Germany

In the fifth place is Germany, as we all know, Germany is a traditional car-making powerhouse, some familiar Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, etc. are German brands, and these brands are quite popular in the Chinese car market. The top three brands that sold the best in Germany were Volkswagen (489,000 units), Mercedes-Benz (224,900 units) and BMW (223,000 units).
