The cheapest Volkswagen pure electric! New pure electric front-wheel drive platform is expected to start from 100,000?

With the promotion of pure electrification, Volkswagen has planned to launch as many as 10 new energy models in 2026.

Recently, the brand officially debuted one of the entry-level models - the ID.2all concept car. A production version of the new car is expected to be released in 2025 and launched in 2026.

According to the way Volkswagen names its trams, the ID.2all will be a model positioned one level below the ID.3.

In Volkswagen's lineup of oil vehicles, the model one level below the Golf is the Polo. The current Polo based on the MQB platform has been launched for 5 years, and there is no update yet.

The ID.3 compact car on sale is also known as the Electric Golf. Therefore, according to the current pure electric development layout of Volkswagen, this ID.2all will have a great possibility to replace the Polo in the future and become a family-level small car-level product.

The starting price of the ID.2all production version in Europe will be less than 25,000 euros (about 185,000 yuan), and the starting price of the reference ID.3 in Europe is 43,995 thousand euros (about 325,000 yuan).

Then according to the price of domestic ID.3 from 162,900, if ID.2all can come to China later, its price is expected to be less than 100,000 yuan, which is to say the same as the Polo on sale.

The ID.2all has a length, width and height of 4050/1812/1530mm and a wheelbase of 2600mm. The size is smaller than the ID.3, but very close to the Polo, and the BYD dolphin is also smaller.

The ID.2all is based on Volkswagen's MEB Entry front-wheel drive platform, and is the first model to be equipped with this platform, unlike the ID.3 that uses rear-wheel drive. The rear suspension has also been changed from a multi-link to a torsion beam design.

Although the front cabin of the ID.3 did not have a motor, it did not free up a front trunk. Since the ID.2all does not have a rear motor, a huge storage box is also freed up under the bottom plate of the tail box.

The regular volume of the ID.2all trunk is 490L, which is larger than the ID.3's 385L. The backrests of the rear seats support a 4/6 ratio reclining, and even the backrest of the passenger seat can be kept on the same plane as the rear rows.

After lifting the rear seat cushion, a storage compartment is also freed up below, and the maximum storage space of the whole car can be expanded to 1330L, which is already equivalent to the capacity of a pickup truck bucket.

The ID.2all will be equipped with a motor with a maximum power of 226 horsepower, enabling a 0-100km/h acceleration time of less than 7 seconds.

This power level is very exaggerated, you must know that a small steel gun such as the Golf GTI, that is, 220 horsepower, 0-100km/h acceleration time of 7.2 seconds. Here you can expect how strong the GTE high-performance version of ID.2all will be in the future.

The ID.2all will be equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries, and the cruising range under WLTP conditions can reach 450km, which is higher than the range of the ID.3, referring to its battery capacity of 57.3kWh. The new car also supports 125kW fast charging, which can complete 10%-80% of the power replenishment in 20 minutes, and the charging speed has been improved.

The design style of the ID.2all is different from the current ID. series models, which will become Volkswagen's latest family design.

Although the ID.2all can be seen as the successor to the Polo, its overall shape is very similar to the current Golf, like a scaled-down version.

The front face actually retains the mid-mesh style that is only needed for oil vehicles, and the daytime running lights with the through-type are very similar to the current Golf. The headlights will be equipped with Volkswagen's IQ.LIGHT matrix technology, which was not available in the past on the entry-level model of the Polo.

The lines on the side of the body and the position of the C-pillar pay tribute to the classic design shape of the previous generations of golf. However, the front door handle does not use the popular hidden design, while the rear door handle is on the window frame, and the rear overhang is also extremely short.

The rear of the car is very simple, the taillights adopt a through-through design, the style has a touch of retro feeling, and the logo can also be lit.

So the appearance of ID.2all is a combination of technology and retro, and it follows the same route as the modern IONIQ 5.

Equally simple and retro is the interior, the steering wheel is cutout at 3 and 9 o'clock, and the center console retains the physical buttons. Fortunately, in addition to the simplicity of the door panel, the window control buttons of the main driver have been changed from two ID.3 to four more practical.

The new car has better created ambient lights, and the sense of technology in the cabin has been enhanced. The LCD instrument panel is 10.9 inches and the center control screen is 12.9 inches, both of which are floating designs and provide a theme interface for classic models of various generations of Volkswagen.

The gear lever is still in the form of a pocket gear, the same as the current ID. model. The central armrest area provides a wireless charging pad, and there is also a small screen in the middle of the knob that can display the Volkswagen brand logo or the Wolfsburg City logo.
