Recently, we learned from relevant sources that Hyundai Motor plans to build a new electric vehicle factory in the United States and has consulted with Georgia officials. However, Hyundai motor is currently reluctant to disclose details related to the site selection negotiations and investment plans.
Hyundai has been in deep discussions with Georgia officials about the establishment of a dedicated electric vehicle factory in the state. If finalized, the new EV plant will serve Hyundai and Kia, as the two brands will launch two all-electric SUVs for the U.S. market – the Hyundai IONIQ 7 and Kia EV9.
Hyundai's announcement of an investment deal comes as the U.S. government has been pushing for greater investment in electric vehicles and related suppliers to create jobs and advance the clean energy agenda. It will also mark a major economic victory for Georgia, which has been working to establish itself as a regional hub for the emerging electric vehicle industry.
