2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed, these electric players should not miss
On July 13, the four-day 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed will open, and this year is expected to be the largest in history, in addition to various fuel supercars, many electric new cars will also be staged here.

AIM EV Sport 01
This is probably one of the most interesting new cars that audiences will see at this year's Speedday, designed by the famous Shiro Nakamura, and the representative work is the sixth-generation Nissan GT-R.
Although Nakamura retired in 2017, he is still active in the design field, and this electric supercar concept has a sleek shape, two rear-wheel drive motors that deliver 483hp of maximum power and 545lb-ft of peak torque, a battery capacity of 81kWh, and an expected range of 300 kilometers.
Caterham Project V
British sports car manufacturer Caterham is best known for its retro Lotus 7 series sports cars, and this time at the Festival of Speed they will also be showcasing a modern electric sports car, the Project V.
Judging from the teaser image, the Project V adopts a two-seat layout, with a wide and low front, and there seems to be an aerodynamic package on both sides of the lower surround. The oval taillights are recognizable.
Detailed power and performance parameters for the new car have not yet been announced, but Caterham has always had the advantage of making lightweight models, which should be reflected in the new electric car.
Hyundai IONIQ 5 N
Following Veloster, KONA and Elantra, Hyundai will feature a new entrant in its high-performance lineup, the IONIQ 5 N pure electric crossover.
The car, a high-performance version of the IONIQ 5, will officially debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and is expected to be available by the end of the year. The exterior of the new car is simple and powerful, and the design with a low center of gravity shows the performance attributes of the car.
The new car will be equipped with dual motors with a combined power of 600 horsepower. At the same time, it is equipped with VGN mode that simulates dual-clutch transmission shifting, simulates the sound of the engine, and has a drift mode to meet the needs of users for performance cars.
MG MG
MG's line-up at the festival is strong, bringing a number of electrified models, including the new all-electric coupe Cyberster, MG4 EX4 concept and MG4 XPower.
The MG4 XPower is equipped with dual-motor four-wheel drive, with a maximum power of 429hp, a peak torque of 442lb-ft, and a zero hundred acceleration of 3.8 seconds. It is also equipped with an electronic differential, and the suspension has been re-optimised to increase rigidity by 25%, resulting in more responsive steering and stronger braking performance.
Compared to the regular MG4 EV, the exterior and interior of this car have been fine-tuned. It will be available in the UK this month and will be available in other European countries later.
The MG4 will also feature a rather wild concept car, the EX4, a nod to the MG Metro 6R4 race car of the 80s of the 20th century, with the same dual-motor powertrain as the MG4 XPower.
Its special feature is mainly the styling, borrowing the classic elements of the original rally car, the front blade size is quite exaggerated, the body is covered with a large number of aerodynamic packages, there is a strong visual impact, but the performance is the same as the MG4 XPower.
McMurtry Speirling Pure
Last year, McMurtry Speirling set a new record in hill climbs and was the star of the festival. This year they brought a production version of Pure.
The McMurtry Speirling Pure has a maximum power of 1000hp and is equipped with a 60kWh battery pack, which can run 10 laps on Silverstone on a full charge in just 20 minutes.
This super electric sports car can only be driven on the track and is limited to 1,000 units worldwide, selling for a whopping $1.04 million each.
Porsche Mission X concept
The Mission X concept is a gift from Porsche to celebrate the company's 75th anniversary, with a front reminiscent of the endurance race car Porsche 963, while the side profile and rear wing evoke the classic 956 and 962.
Porsche did not disclose the detailed parameters of the supercar, but claims that it can set a new record on the New North circuit. And the new car will be produced in the 900V system architecture, and the charging speed will be greatly improved.
In addition, there will be some Chinese brand electric vehicles at this year's Goodwood Speed Festival, including NIO ET5, Gaohe Z, Gaohe Y, etc.
