About a month after the incident, Volkswagen explained the problem to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and then Volkswagen supplier U-Shin Ltd. began testing door parts that might be failing.
Second, the quality problem of the parts causes the door handle electronic board to enter the water
For the 10 ID.4s initially found to be problematic, the parts for these vehicles were all produced at the Chattanooga, Tennessee plant. So far, Volkswagen has pointed out that the Tennessee plant has produced about 16,000 ID.4s, and these vehicles may all have potential door problems.
