Xu Beihong's two "horse gifts"

In the history of modern Chinese painting, Xu Beihong's "horse" can be described as a unique painting world, and no one can compete with it. So why does Master Xu Beihong like to draw horses so much? He once said that he loves horses because he has strength and courage, and is a symbol of courage to move forward.

Therefore, the masters all use painting horses to express the unspeakable sadness and indignation and the feelings of patriotism and concern for the people.

In 1932, when the "One And Two Eight" incidents broke out in Shanghai, and the 19th Route Army stationed in Shanghai and the people of Shanghai rose up to resist Japan, the master painted a horse standing tall and named it "Independence", expressing his sense of the times that he hoped that the motherland would be independent and strong, expressing the lofty respect for the soldiers of the war, and issuing a kind of cry in the master's heart. After that, he painted war horses many times to express the national spirit, that "Naruma Tu" is a metaphor for my inviolable national dignity in the form of "Naruma", the painting is full of inspiring appeal, most of his horses do not draw saddles, so that they are full of fierce and powerful wildness, and there is no tame and feminine state.

Master Xu Beihong's horse is not only handsome and elegant, but also reflects the artist's artistic style, he is proficient in Western horse body anatomy, and the muscles, bones and facial dynamics of horses. As early as during his studies at the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, he often went to the horse farm to sketch, laying a solid foundation for the later creation of a variety of horses. Because he often painted horses, he had a special preference for horses, and he listened to the sound of the horses' hooves with the horses, watched the horses galloping in the wind, which was a kind of enjoyment for him, and his heart seemed to be galloping with the horses.

Because the master's horse was so well drawn, even the cavalry marshal of the former Soviet Union asked him for a "horse gift".

It was the spring of 1934, and the master went to Various European countries to hold exhibitions, and when he arrived in Moscow, he was asked to perform a horse painting performance for the audience at the opening ceremony of the State Museum Exhibition. On the opening day, Soviet Marshal Budyonny, who was known for his horse lover, also rushed to the scene with great interest, and he crowded into the large audience to watch Xu Beihong paint horses on the spot. In the blink of an eye, an unstoppable galloping horse jumped on the paper. The art hall suddenly erupted into thunderous applause, and the cavalry marshal could not contain his excitement, unceremoniously brushed aside the audience in front of him, strode over to Xu Beihong and gave a solemn military salute, pleading: "Mr. Xu, just give me this horse, otherwise I will go crazy!" The master was amused by the marshal's sincerity and nodded happily to give the galloping horse to the marshal.

Master Xu loves horses, loves Wu and Wu, and even the people who love horses are in love with him.

It was the autumn of 1943, and the master held a painting exhibition in Chengdu, and on the day of the closing of the exhibition, the master and Liao Jingwen took a carriage to the new capital Gui lake. When the horse of the carriage arrived at its destination, it seemed to be in a state of exhaustion and breathlessness, and the coachman went to kiss his beloved horse as soon as he got out of the carriage, and the master was immediately moved by the coachman's actions. After paying for the car, he reached out and caressed Mana's bulging and smooth back, as if to an old friend and said affectionately, "Thank you!" Then he took a scroll of the Galloping Horse from his handbag and handed it to the coachman, saying, "This is for you." The coachman looked at Xu Beihong as if he didn't understand his words. Liao Jingwen explained from the side: "This is a painting, it is for you. The coachman then gratefully took the painting, and the master shook the coachman's rough hand and said, "Goodbye!" On the way, Liao Jingwen asked, "Why did you suddenly give a painting to a coachman you didn't know?" The master replied, "I love horses and I love people who treat horses well, and his love for horses touched my heart, not to mention that his life is very difficult!" ”

"Horse" is a part of Xu Beihong's life, and his life is to borrow the "horse" to express his unrestrained and free passion for life, and it is also a kind of spiritual sustenance, which also carries his feelings and thoughts about the times and life. Isn't this the case with the "bamboo" of Zheng Banqiao, the "shrimp" of Qi Baishi, and the love in the hearts of each of us ordinary people? #Micro Headline Day Sign # #Story in Cultural Relics # #收藏 #
