Many of us were shocked by Wu Zixu's tenacity and persistence. He also regretted his tragic and helpless end. So is he a loyalist, and what kind of person is he?
After Wu Zixu was an official eunuch, his father and brother were slandered by the traitor Fei Wuji and were dismembered by the five horses of king Chuping. Only he escaped. On the way to escape, a bamboo Xiao, half a broken scoop, endured hunger and begging, crossed Shaoguan and met the white head of the pursuing soldiers, and dragged half his life through dangers and obstacles to the Kingdom of Wu. He carried a deep vengeance in the sea of blood and helped King Wu to dominate the world. Finally, he attacked the capital of the Chu state, exhumed the body of King Chu Ping, and whipped the corpse to vent his anger. However, the end was that he was in the Wuyue struggle for hegemony, under the dissension of the Yue monarchs, and was ostracized by Fu Cha and Bo Qi junchen, and he ended up depressed. Before dying, he dug his eyes and hung the East Gate to see the fall of the Wu kingdom.
His story reminds me of Mei Changsu in the Langya list. Lin Shu was also the brightest genius teenager in Jinling City before the First World War in Meiling, but he became a victim of power in the court battles. Father Lin and 70,000 soldiers were framed for adultery and buried meiling. Only Lin Shu survived, but he was also poisoned by fire and cold, and after the loss of his loved ones, the pain of cutting bones and changing his face, he transformed into Mei Changsu and used a pair of hands that had descended on a fierce horse and bent over a strong bow to stir up the storm in this sinister hell. In the end, with his sick and weak body, he assisted King Ming Junjing to ascend to the throne, cleansed the court, and washed the stigma of the 70,000 red flame loyal souls.
Mei Changsu's choice was to use his wit and wisdom to create a new monarch and a clear court. He did not take revenge on the country that nurtured him with his grievances and hatred. The so-called world is the world of the people under the world. The most painful thing is always the people.
Wu Zixu, however, took revenge on his mother country with a personal vendetta, and instead of trying to reform the political malpractice of the dynasty, he chose to help the enemy country destroy the Chu state where he grew up. His own joy of honor and disgrace is far greater than the bitterness of the people of the world. It can be said that there is no country. Sima Qian's evaluation of him was that he could not be like this because of his husband. Or maybe he's just a tragic hero full of temperament.
