Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, as a powder keg in the Arab region, has experienced many bloodsheds in history, the most famous of which is the bombing of a US military base in 1983.

A total of 241 people died in the accident, all of whom were American soldiers, which also caused an uproar in the United States, and anti-war peace demonstrations were endless. What is the reason for such a great humiliation for the world's number one power? All this can only be said to be the US military's own doing.

During the war between Israel and Lebanon, Israel soon occupied its capital, Beirut, because of its military strength far higher than that of weak Lebanon, and the U.S. military also made a windfall in the Middle East war. Seeing that Lebanon really could not resist, the United States began to stand up and play the role of peacemaker, forming a mediation agency with other Western European countries and sending troops to Lebanon. Israel also accepted it as soon as it saw it was good, and immediately signed a ceasefire agreement.

But how could the United States do a business of losing money, after the Israeli troops slowly withdrew from Lebanon, the US troops that should have left with it were stationed and established a large-scale military base. The United States claimed that this was to maintain local order and help the Lebanese government rebuild.

Clear-eyed people can see that the United States is not drunk, in fact, it is to improve the right to speak in the Middle East. So, overtly and covertly, not only the local PLO but also the Lebanese anti-war faction are resisting what the United States is doing.

As a result, a retaliation against the US military quietly surfaced. So in the early morning of October 25, 1983, when it was getting dark, a truck full of high explosives appeared near the US military base in Beirut, and the blind US military garrison did not think that anyone would dare to move the ground on the head of the tai nian and rush to attack the military base where the heavy troops were stationed.

So just as the sentries on the guard were yawning, the truck driver saw the timing, broke through the wire fence, and crashed straight into the building where the American soldiers were resting. The soldiers who reacted shouted loudly, trying to wake up their sleeping comrades, but unfortunately it was too late, the truck turned into a fire in the huge explosion, dozens of tons of explosives directly caused the military building to collapse, many American soldiers died unconsciously, and the thick smoke stretched for miles in the night.

After the explosion, some of the awakened soldiers wanted to flee the scene immediately, so they rushed to the open area downstairs, but the huge impact had caused irreparable damage to the load-bearing wall and foundation of the building. With a bang, the floor of the building was disconnected directly from the middle, and the fleeing soldiers were directly smashed to the ground by the broken ceiling, while the soldiers who luckily avoided the rubble did not escape the shattered glass.

The glass residue that swept across the face caused many soldiers to suffer heavy damage, and for a while there was a cry for help. According to statistics afterwards, the number of us troops killed in the bombing was as high as more than two hundred, and the number of injured people was even more numerous.

When this news reached the US Department of Defense, the shock was accompanied by great anger, but in such a mixed place as the Middle East, the culprit of the bombing could not be investigated at all. But the United States said that it would not eat this dumb loss, and they immediately held a press conference to announce that the cause of the accident was Iran's deliberate military action, and the United States would subsequently impose economic sanctions on Iran.

The self-directed and self-acting conference of the United States made the rest of the world watch the jokes of the United States, and this kind of shirking responsibility and wantonly planting stolen goods also made the American people feel disappointed in the incompetence of the government.

After the Beirut bombing, the U.S. military felt that it could no longer mix with the Middle East affairs for a short time, so it gradually withdrew its troops deployed on the ground.

To this day, the debate over the bombing has not stopped, and under the influence of different opinions, scholars from all over the world have formed a consensus: violence does not bring peace, only more violence! #US ##黎巴嫩首都大爆炸 #
