During the Tang Dynasty, when the entrance examination was over, the emperor would hold a grand banquet in the imperial palace to entertain these future officials, and the name of this banquet was "Tanhua Banquet".
As the name suggests, this kind of banquet should show the beautiful side of the palace to these passing soldiers, so that they have a good vision for the future. Therefore, before the banquet began, the emperor would select two or four people from all the jinshi who were responsible for their appearance and name them "Flower Scouts".
Their job is also very simple, that is, to collect a variety of beautiful flowers in the garden of the banquet, after which everyone writes a small poem expressing their mood and good wishes. After doing this, it is time for the focus of the banquet to appear.
Therefore, these tanhualangs can also be seen as foiling the green leaves of flowers, and when the protagonist appears, their task will be completed.
But these people who were selected as tanhuas, their beautiful lives have just begun.
Unwritten rules
As mentioned earlier, the selected people are very handsome and handsome, plus they can become jinshi, they must have a certain talent, which makes them become the mate selection objects of some people in the capital, including some women with noble status.
It is precisely because of this that after the end of each "flower exploration banquet", the dignitaries and nobles in the capital will begin to stage a drama of robbing their wives, especially those who have not yet established a family, which is the first choice for them to compete.

However, during the Song Dynasty and Song Huizong period, the imperial examination system was reformed, and the former Tanhualang officially became the third place included in the top three.
Although the Tanhua after the Song Dynasty did not have the scenery of the past, this was a good thing for the national community. After all, the selection of jinshi is for the sake of the people of the world, for the sake of guotai and the people's security, and for the sake of the imperial court, not for the high-ranking officials and nobles.
Because of this, the future Tanhua is mostly some talents with real talents and practical learning, such as Chen Lan, Cai Ang, Gao Jie of the Ming Dynasty, Cheng Yuanzhang of the Qing Dynasty, and so on.
