At the event site, the relevant person in charge of the construction management department of the management committee of the starting area and the relevant person in charge of the project operator, Beijing Capital Ecological Environmental Protection Group Co., Ltd., introduced that Cuizhai reclaimed water plant, as the first sewage treatment and recycling facility in the starting area, has a planned total daily processing scale of 120,000 tons, and the first phase of the project is now completed and put into operation with a daily processing capacity of 40,000 tons, covering an area of about 4.04 hectares and a total investment of 340 million yuan. At present, the operation of the water plant is stable, and the water quality is up to standard.

The planning and construction of the base highlights the experience of water-saving exhibition halls, water-saving park effects, and water-saving retreatment processes.

The content of the exhibition hall covers all aspects of focusing on agriculture, industry, life water conservation and sewage reclaimed water treatment, focusing on visual and experiential sense, in the form of knowledge quizzes, interactions, sand table simulations and rich visual experiences with water as elements, constituting a water-saving characteristic science popularization space.

Drip irrigation, sprinkler irrigation and other water-saving facilities are fully applied in the water-saving park, and the results of sewage treatment and recycling are displayed in a three-dimensional and intuitive way. The lotus flowers planted in the wetland are ready to bloom, and the goldfish swim around in groups. The relevant person in charge told reporters that the park selects drought-tolerant, perennial, high evaporation and dispersion saving tree species for greening, and strictly controls water use from the source, while paying attention to ecological rainwater management, building above-ground sponge facilities, reducing runoff and improving groundwater recharge through permeable paving and collection facilities.

In terms of sewage recycling, the all-underground design is adopted to reduce the floor space and effectively reduce the "nimby effect". The reporter saw a complete set of automatically controlled sewage treatment system under the ground of the sewage treatment plant. According to reports, the system has automatic control and real-time monitoring functions, can provide visitors with dynamic demonstration and education platform, the project sewage treatment using AAO+MBR treatment process, can ensure that the treated high-quality reclaimed water for green irrigation, industrial water or ecological water replenishment, etc., the formation of a closed-loop economic model, showing a model of recycling.

"In terms of system construction, the starting area aims to build a water-saving leading demonstration area, and issues documents such as the implementation plan for the key work of intensive water conservation, and the water-saving control measures for the whole process of planning and construction projects." The relevant person in charge of the construction management department of the starting area told reporters that at the same time, an evaluation index system for the construction of water-saving demonstration and leading areas has been established, water-saving goals in various industries and fields have been clarified, and relevant departments and territorial responsibilities of water-saving control have been refined.

In terms of source control, through the transformation of the tap water pipe network in 88 villages, the starting area has realized the transformation of rural water supply from "water" to "good water", reduced the high leakage rate of tap water, and improved the living and production conditions of rural residents.

As a "new city from flat ground", the Yellow River New Town has "fully implemented the construction of the reclaimed water utilization pipe network, relying on the road projects under construction in the area, laying more than 130 kilometers of reclaimed water pipe network." According to the person in charge, in 2024, the starting area will also start the construction of reclaimed water plants in the detonation area, Taiping reclaimed water plants, Sun Geng reclaimed water plants and other projects, and after completion, the reclaimed water supply capacity will be increased by 185,000 cubic meters per day. It is estimated that by 2025, the utilization rate of reclaimed water in the starting area will be more than 60%, becoming a new highland for water conservation in the city.
