After the new forces of car-making, represented by Dongfeng Lantu, BAIC Jihu and Geely Kr, the high-end brands of new energy vehicles incubated by traditional car companies have also ushered in the annual examination. Living up to expectations, since the delivery of Lantu for 5 months, sales have continued to rise, and in the last month of the year, 3330 new cars have been delivered, becoming the fastest brand to achieve more than 3000 deliveries in a single month.

On January 1, the new car-making forces announced the delivery status in 2021, of which Xiaopeng won the annual sales championship with 98,155 units of delivery; Niolai and Ideal ranked second and third with 91,429 units and 90,491 units, respectively; Nezha Automobile, WM Automobile and Zero-run Automobile followed closely with 69,674 units, 44,157 units and 43,121 units respectively.

Specifically, Xiaopeng's total delivery volume for the whole year is 3.6 times that of 2020. Among them, the delivery volume in December was 16,000 units, an increase of 181% year-on-year, and the cumulative delivery volume in the fourth quarter reached 41,751 units, an increase of 63% month-on-month and 222% year-on-year.

Behind the substantial increase in sales, Xiaopeng has the support of a number of powerful models. Among them, the Xiaopeng P7 was unyielding, with a cumulative delivery of 60,569 units throughout the year, accounting for 62% of the total delivery volume of the year; the Xiaopeng P5 continued to climb the slope after the start of large-scale delivery in October this year, delivering 5,030 units in December to a new high; and the cumulative annual delivery of Xiaopeng G3 series products was 29,721 units, an increase of 148% year-on-year.

Weilai, who lost the first hand. In 2021, NIO delivered 91,429 new vehicles, an increase of 109.1% year-on-year, doubling for two consecutive years. Sales in December exceeded 10,000 again, reaching 10,489 new cars, up 49.7% year-on-year; if measured quarterly, NIO has achieved seven consecutive quarters of positive growth.

But behind the good results, it is a slightly careless, it was squeezed down by Weilai.

In the second half of last year, the "lack of core" brought a rollercoaster-like experience to Weilai, not only its August sales fell from 7931 units in July to 5880 units, but also ushered in the annual "freezing point" in October, sales fell to 3667 units, once fell out of the top three of the new car-making forces, and was overtaken by the later ideal. However, fortunately, the response was timely, and in the last two months, Weilai returned to the "Ten Thousand Vehicles" army again and saved the dignity of "Wei Xiaoli".

Compared with Weilai's thrilling, the overall performance of the ideal last year was relatively stable, and it has been in the top three lists. The data shows that in the whole year of 2021, ideal ONE delivered a total of 90,491 units, an increase of 177.4% over 2020; in December, ideal cars delivered 14,087 ideal ONEs, an increase of 130.0% year-on-year, reaching the peak of annual sales. Nezha Automobile, which ranked fourth, delivered 69,674 units in 2021, an increase of 362% year-on-year. Among them, 10,127 new cars were delivered in December, an increase of 236% year-on-year. Although the cumulative total delivery volume for the whole year of 2021 is lower than that of "Wei Xiaoli", with the momentum of last year's super-ideal, the number of seats of new car-making forces in the future may still change.

WM, which is also 40,000 vehicles, and Zero Run, will start to make efforts in the second half of 2021. Especially in December, WM delivered 5,062 smart pure electric vehicles, accounting for 11.46% of the annual delivery; the delivery volume of zero-run reached 7,807 units, an increase of 368% year-on-year, setting a new high for deliveries.

Independent high-end brands ushered in the first report card, and the future can be expected

In addition to the new forces of car manufacturing, the high-end electric vehicle brands under traditional car companies have also ushered in their first annual report card in 2021.

As a high-end electric vehicle brand under Dongfeng, Landu has attracted much attention from inside and outside the industry since its launch of delivery in August 2021. According to the delivery data released by Lantu, Lantu delivered 3330 LANTU FREE in December, an increase of 192% month-on-month, achieving a five-month month-on-month increase, becoming the fastest new brand of electric vehicles to achieve more than 3,000 deliveries in a single month.

In addition, Lantu delivered a total of 6791 Lantu FREE units in 2021, and its average transaction price exceeded 338,000, breaking through the new high value of independent brand electric vehicles. On this basis, Landu Automobile also plans to form a three-category matrix across SUVs, MPVs and cars within three years, release no less than one new model to the market every year, and continuously expand the product lineup of high-end electric vehicle brands.

BEIC's Jihu Automobile also achieved sales of more than 1,000 units in December, reaching 1,186 units, an increase of 696% year-on-year, and in the whole year of 2021, Jihu delivered a total of 4993 units. At present, the new HI version of Polar Fox Alpha S has opened the early version of delivery.

Also highly anticipated is Geely's Extreme Krypton Automobile. According to the data, Extreme Kr delivered 3796 ZEEKR 001 units in December, an increase of 88.7% month-on-month. However, a few days ago, Extreme Krypton was exposed by its owner to emphasize that the discount was greater before the year, inducing the owner to order false publicity before December 31, which should have been a gratifying result and added a little doubt.

It is worth mentioning that since the delivery began in October, Extreme Kr has experienced many rights protection and declaration incidents such as "false publicity, motor goods are not on the right board, car and machine software bugs, and electric door defects". Although the official response to the controversial event and the solution of the dispute, it is indeed unfavorable for the later development of an emerging brand.

BYD boosted morale, and new energy vehicles broke through 600,000 units

If the new forces of car manufacturing and emerging brands in 2021 have given the industry a surprise, then BYD in 2021 has given traditional car companies the confidence to develop new energy vehicles.

On the evening of January 3, BYD officially announced its latest sales data, and the sales of new cars in December were 99,112 units, an increase of 75.97% year-on-year; the cumulative sales of new cars in 2021 were 740,131 units, an increase of 73.34% year-on-year.

Among them, BYD sold 93,945 new energy vehicles in December, an increase of 225.7% year-on-year; in 2021, it sold 603,783 new energy vehicles, a sharp increase of 218.30% over the same period last year, accounting for 81.58% of the annual sales.

Specifically, in 2021, BYD sold a total of 320,810 pure electric passenger cars, an increase of 144.95% over the same period last year; plug-in hybrid vehicles sold a total of 272,935 units, an increase of 467.62% year-on-year.

Not only that, just past December 22, BYD's 2022 Song Pro DM-i was officially listed, and the cumulative order volume on the first day of pre-sale alone reached 18,116 units. Some analysts said that after the listing of the Song Pro DM-i, it will further promote the sales of BYD plug-in hybrid models to a higher level.

In addition, unlike pure electric vehicle companies that quickly release new energy vehicle sales, traditional car companies currently only BYD has released sales data, which also means that in the field of new energy vehicles, traditional car companies may still have room to rise.
